建筑企业系统内部工程整体分包行为研究

论文主要针对我国的大型建筑企业或者企业集团在承包的项目中出现的内部分包行为进行分析，对各种具体行为进行了归纳与定性。文中分析了其产生的背景与原因，以及可能导致的问题。希望能够有助于企业正确认识这种行为及其后果，及时调整企业经营策略。同时有助于有关主管部门的调控和管理。     

Timeliness of Reporting and Earnings Information Transfers

This study examines earnings timeliness and its effect on earnings information transfers. Empirical analyses focus on a sample of approximately fifteen hundred earnings reports and nearly four thousand information transfers. The principal findings are: (1) earlier earnings releases yield negative information transfers, (2) earnings releases yield negative (nominal) information transfers to firms that previously (subsequently) release their earnings reports, and (3) earlier earnings releases yield negative information transfers to firms that have not yet disclosed earnings. These findings show that the timing of earnings reports has significant and far-reaching economic consequences.     

An Intelligent Distributed System for Strategic Decision Making

The decision-making process in strategic planning is often too complex to be handled by conventional methods. Strategic planning problems (building new plans, new product planning, etc.) belong to the class of problems called ill-structured by H. Simon. They involve a decomposition of the main problem into a set of subproblems, a reasoning process at the subproblem level, and then a coordinated and aggregated process to build a global solution. Because partial solutions are generated without having a complete view of the global objective, this type of decision-making process very often generates incoherent and contradictory hypotheses and actions. Therefore, the main problem is to find a way to achieve coherence and coordination among decisions made locally by different agents, at different levels.Recent advances in Artificial Intelligence, particularly in the field of multi-agent theory, offer great promises in modeling strategic planning processes. In this article we present a general framework called 'A Coherent Plan of Coordinated Actions (CPCA)' for building intelligent distributed strategic decision making systems which integrates advances in both distributed decision making and Distributed Artificial Intelligence. We then describe a multi-blackboard system, ARISTOTE, which is aimed at helping corporate managers address the feasibility and coherence of a plan of actions.     

上市公司外部融资行为的寻租效应分析

本文结合公共选择学派和现代产权学派的寻租理论,分析了我国上市公司普遍存在的融资行为偏好,提出不仅在企业内部而且在企业外部的证券市场和证券监管都为企业寻租提供了空间。由于理性和自私的原因,企业经管人员必然会利用这种可寻租空间谋求自身利益最大化,从而造成社会资源的浪费。因此,需要充分认识寻租行为的不利影响,并有针对性的加以控制。

Demand for electric vehicles in hybrid households: an exploratory analysis

Previous studies of the potential market for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) from different research streams have failed to converge on a single, robust estimate. What these previous research streams share are untested or implausible assumptions about consumer response to new transportation technology. We frame the BEV purchase decision in terms of a household's entire stock of vehicles, car purchase behavior and travel behavior. Within this framework, households which own both electric vehicles and gasoline vehicles are called ‘hybrid households’. Because nearly all consumers are unfamiliar with the characteristics of BEVs, we designed an interactive interview based on week-long travel diaries, which we call Purchase Intentions and Range Estimation Games (PIREG) to explore hypothetical hybrid household vehicle use. Our primary finding is that consumers' perceived driving range needs are substantially lower than previous hypothetical stated preference studies conclude. We find evidence of a viable market for BEVs with 60 to 100 miles driving range.

‘World war three’: A historical mirage?

Public belief in a major, convulsive military clash between East and West, marked by an apocalyptic nuclear exchange, is now widespread. It may be argued that such a conflict is scarcely in prospect, and that the notion of such a Third World War has little contemporary strategic value, either as a real prospect or a salutary myth. This article examines the strong contemporary reasons for the prominence of this image, and traces its fundamental roots in deceptive historical precedent.     

Marketing Australia overseas—a corporate perspective

The Australian Tourist Commission promotes international tourism to Australia. It undertakes a range of marketing activities including advertising, public relations and tourist trade promotions. It does not sell travel. The tourist industry in Australia contributes 6% to Gross Domestic Product and employment. International tourism in Australia accounts for around 15% of all tourism. Australia is divided into eight states and territories all of which promote tourism within the country and also undertake offshore promotions with the Australian Tourist Commission. The strategy of the Commission for the next 3 years includes an emphasis on conventions and incentives, market research, quality promotions and special interest travel across a broad range of markets.     

On the asymptotic behavior of the prices of Asian options

In this paper, we study the price of a long term Asian option the pay-off of which is determined by the average price of the underlying asset during the last fixed number of days of its life. As one can imagine, it converges to the price of a plain vanilla option as the time to maturity increases. We explicitly obtained the asymptotic difference which will be useful for computing the price of Asian option in practice.
