改进的乘性噪声去噪算法

文章在AA模型的基础上,提出了一种改进的图像去噪算法。针对AA模型在去噪时边缘信息对噪声敏感且易出现过平滑的缺陷,在新模型中引入自蛇函数,使得新模型根据图像的特征进行平滑,从而更好地保护边缘信息。数值实验表明,新算法无论是在峰值信噪比上还是在视觉效果上都有很大改善。

Classical and Impulse Stochastic Control of the Exchange Rate Using Interest Rates and Reserves

We consider the problem of a Central Bank that wants the exchange rate to be as close as possible to a given target, and in order to do that uses both the interest rate level and interventions in the foreign exchange market. We model this as a mixed classical‐impulse stochastic control problem, and provide for the first time a solution to that kind of problem. We give examples of solutions that allow us to perform an interesting economic analysis of the optimal strategy of the Central Bank.     

What are the key success factors for strategy formulation and implementation? Perspectives of managers in the hotel industry

This study investigates how hotel managers describe strategy and identify key success factors for its formulation and implementation. The study analyzes qualitative data collected through semi-structured interviews with property level top managers of hotels in Hong Kong. The findings show that hotel managers prioritize competition analysis and macro-environmental conditions over internal characteristics such as teamwork in strategy formulation. In the implementation phase, however, internal considerations such as employee involvement and strategic consensus are given prominence. This study provides a significant contribution by examining how top level practitioners in the industry interpret success factors in their strategic management efforts, and it highlights a largely neglected area in the hospitality and tourism management literature.     

Self-coordination in time inconsistent stochastic decision problems: A planner–doer game framework

Time inconsistency has been a thorny issue in many economic and financial decision making problems, especially when risk measures are involved in performance criteria. We develop in this paper a two-tier planner–doer game framework with self-coordination. By aligning the global interest of the planner and the local interests of the doers by applying suitable penalty functions, a degree of internal harmony (measured quantitatively by the expected cost of self-coordination) can be achieved by the self-coordination policy. We establish an axiom system for modified preferences, under which the self-coordination policy can be obtained by solving a corresponding optimization problem. We then apply our game framework successfully in dynamic mean-variance portfolio selection.     

Real-time mobilization decisions for multi-priority emergency response resources and evacuation groups: Model formulation and solution

This paper presents a model formulation and solution for simultaneous mobilization destination, traffic assignment, and departure schedule for multi-priority groups (SMDTS-MPG) for real-time emergency response in no-notice disasters. The presented approach addresses the decision context in which multiple emergency responses and evacuation flow groups with different destinations and varying priorities coexist in the same traffic network, within which simultaneous mobilization strategies must consider this requirement. The proposed modeling technique and the cell transmission model (CTM)-based linear-programming model provides a mechanism to accomplish this goal in an intuitive and coherent manner. The proposed matrix formulation of the SMDTS-MPG model permits the rapid deployment of the model to large networks. Model formulation and numerical examples are presented in detail in this paper.     

Optimal Investment and Consumption With Two Bonds and Transaction Costs1

An agent can invest in a high-yield bond and a low-yield bond, holding either long or short positions in either asset. Any movement of money between these two assets incurs a transaction cost proportional to the size of the transaction. the low-yield bond is liquid in the sense that wealth invested in this bond can be consumed directly without a transaction cost; wealth invested in the high-yield bond can be consumed only by first moving it into the low-yield bond. the problem of optimal consumption and investment on an infinite planning horizon is solved for a class of utility functions larger than the class of power functions.
