实际经济时间序列的计算、季节调整及相关经济含义

本文首先讨论了计算中国实际经济时间序列的不同做法 ,并分析了其对季节调整的影响 ,指出通过同比增长率计算实际变量并进行季节调整是一个可以接受的做法 ,可以得到非常接近真实的季调后序列 ,并且在中国现有数据资源的限制下拥有一些特别的优势。然后本文具体讨论了对几个不同经济变量进行季节调整的方法 ,并给出了一些在经济数据分析与预测中的简单应用。方法的关键是采用regARIMA模型 ,从而可以对工作日变化、放长假、春节因素等作出一个估计和调整。作为一个副产品 ,本文引荐了一个相对较新的季节调整程序 (方法 ) ,TRAMO SEATS ,简单介绍了它的原理和优势 ,希望今后能得到更广泛的应用。     

基于J2EE的电子商务系统开发框架

提出了基于J2EE的电子商务系统开发框架,采用了多层结构,将表现逻辑、业务逻辑和数据逻辑相分离,通过集成轻量级框架Struts、Spring、Hibernate加上页面框架实现了该开发框架,保证程序具有松耦合性和易扩展性。

Gulf Arab E‐Business Environment: Localization Strategy Insights

The Gulf Arab region, particularly Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), took significant steps toward adopting e‐business and is poised to become a significant online marketplace. The region has a number of vital ingredients that could make it an e‐commerce powerhouse; however, e‐commerce has not reached its full potential. In this article, the authors explore the e‐business environment in the Gulf Arab region and shed light on some of the opportunities and challenges that are shaping and restricting e‐business infiltration. The article places greater emphasis on the idea of localization and how it may impact consumer behavior and expansion of e‐commerce. We argue that by increasing the focus on culturally customized online content by considering country‐level cultural, geopolitical, and linguistic factors, this region could be lucrative for companies looking to attract online consumers. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.     

The impact of foreignness on the compliance with cybersecurity controls

This study examines whether and how foreignness affects internal auditors’ compliance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (the Standards) from social and culture perspective. It demonstrates that foreignness, such as language and relational social capital, has a significant impact on auditors’ compliance with the Standards, especially with respect to cybersecurity, independence and objectivity, individual objectivity, and governance of the Standards. The Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) is used to analyze the survey data. This study highlights that external factors such as social capital affect the internal auditors’ compliance with the Standards.     

A welfare measure of consumer vulnerability to rising prices of food imports in the UAE

The recent and expected continuing rise in food prices has re-ignited concern and discussion in the United Arab Emirates about the country’s vulnerability to food supply shocks. Defining vulnerability as the compensating variation relative to household income, we find that although UAE households in the lowest income quintile spend on food on average less than a quarter of what households in the highest income quintile spend, the former are 3.5 times more vulnerable to rising prices of food imports than the latter.     

On the dynamics of the Israeli–Arab arms race

This article investigates the causal relationships between the military expenditures and military burden of the four major sides of the Israeli–Arab conflict, namely, Egypt, Israel, Jordan and Syria over the period 1960–2004. We utilize both the causality test suggested by Toda and Yamamoto [Toda, H. Y., & Yamamoto, T. (1995). Statistical inference in vector autoregressions with possibly integrated processes. Journal of Econometrics, 66, 225–250] and the generalized forecast error variance decomposition method of [Pesaran, M. H., & Shin, Y. (1998). Generalized impulse response analysis in linear multivariate models. Economics Letters, 58, 17–29]. Our findings suggest weak causality that runs usually from Israel's to Arab's military spending. The strongest links are between Israel and Syria that are still in a state of enmity. No causality was detected between Israel's and Jordan's military spending.

Usability Problem Areas on Key International and Key Arab E-commerce Websites

This research aims to identify, compare, and contrast the usability of key international e-commerce websites with those in the Arab world, and to offer advice on how to remedy the usability problems on the latter to make them more competitive. Heuristic evaluations were undertaken on three international e-commerce websites and four comparable Arab e-commerce websites. Major and minor problems were identified and rated on each of the sites before being categorized into problem areas. As expected, more major and minor usability problems were identified on the Arab e-commerce websites (average of 22 and 85 per site, respectively) compared to the key international e-commerce websites (average of 12 and 55 per site, respectively). Most problems with both the international and Arab e-commerce websites were related to content and design usability areas, respectively. A variety of unique usability problems were found on the Arab e-commerce websites.
