Optimal Consumption-Portfolio Policies With Habit Formation1

This is a companion paper to the authors ‘Asset Prices in an Exchange Economy with Habit Formation” in Econometrica which focuses on consumption demand and asset pricing when preferences are habit forming. Here we prove existence of optimal consumption-portfolio policies for (i) utility functions for which the marginal cost of consumption (MCC) interacts with the habit formation process and satisfies a recursive integral equation with forward functional Lipschitz integrand and (ii) utilities for which the MCC is independent of the standard of living and satisfies a recursive integral equation with locally Lipschitz integrand. Result (i) is demonstrated here for the first time. Result (ii) is novel and enables us to consider Cobb-Douglas utilities without placing lower bounds on the system of Arrow-Debreu prices. We also review and extend our earlier results in the linear case; in particular, we provide new insights about the structure of optimal portfolios. Additional new features of the model include the possibility of finite marginal utility of consumption at zero and habit formation mechanisms with stochastic coefficients. an extension to a financial market model with general processes is outlined. A byproduct of the analysis is a set of fixed-point theorems for recursive integral equations with forward functional Lipschitz or locally Lipschitz integrands.

我国资本市场内部联动性研究——基于上海证券市场的协整分析

由于处于同一政治和经济环境因素的影响之下,所以在我国股票、债券和基金市场的波动之间应该存在一种趋势联动的运行特征。本文以上证综合指数、上证基金指数和上证国债指数为研究指标,通过协整检验、误差修正模型和因果关系检验考察我国股票市场、基金市场和国债市场在不同市场行情中的长期均衡关系及短期波动影响,以反映我国资本市场之间的联动性特征。     

CDIO教学法在复变函数与积分变换课程中的应用

针对当前《复变函数与积分变换》课程的教学现状,引入了基于CDIO教学法:在教学中要以学生为主体,充分发挥教师的主导作用,运用MATLAB软件实施教学。     

基于模糊测度和数据包络的乳品物流集成能力分析

对乳品供应链的集成能力进行了研究,建立了乳品物流集成度测度体系,运用模糊积分方法定量的计算出系统的物流集成度,来判断乳品物流的集成程度。同时,运用数据包络分析方法对乳品供应链物流能力进行了评价,找出了非有效的供应链在集成物流能力方面与其他供应链的差距,得到乳品供应链集成能力强弱的相关信息,能够帮助乳品供应链管理者定位集成能力薄弱的供应链,以采取相应措施。     

Solving the futures challenge - all you need is a 3LA

In this article, the author responds to a number of claims regarding the Integral Operating System, Causal Layered Analysis and the field of Futures. In particular, the author takes aim at those who claim that the reason the futures field has been lacking in influencing change towards more positive world is the result of not having an effective tool kit. To the contrary, the author suggests that the Futures community's failure at changing the existing ‘market driven paradigm’ has more to do with “… an unwillingness to get our hands dirty and to play in the same sandbox as our clients.” To that end the author targets in particular, a piece suggesting that making the Causal Layered Analysis more complex, exclusionary and ‘new and improved’ is the best way to make inroads into the economic liberalism model now in control. In counterpoint the author suggests that not only is this a flawed approach, it is unlikely to assist those with greatest need - the wider Futures Community.     

Range convexity and ambiguity averse preferences

We show that range convexity of beliefs, a `technical' condition that appears naturally in axiomatizations of preferences in a Savage-like framework, imposes some unexpected restrictions when modelling ambiguity averse preferences. That is, when it is added to a mild condition, range convexity makes the preferences collapse to subjective expected utility as soon as they satisfy structural conditions that are typically used to characterize ambiguity aversion.
