Why are African commodity exchanges languishing? A case study of the Zambian Agricultural Commodity Exchange

Food price volatility and high transactions costs remain major problems in African food markets. These persistent problems provide a strong theoretical justification for the development of commodity exchanges. However, the majority of African commodity exchanges remain underdeveloped. Through a case study of the Zambian Agricultural Commodity Exchange (ZAMACE), this article explores why agricultural commodity exchanges in the region have thus far failed to develop into sustainable trading platforms and identifies the most important changes needed to enhance their performance.     

中国商品出口贸易发展研究--基于主要贸易伙伴经济发展的视角

危机后世界经济恢复缓慢,外部需求持续低迷,中国商品出口贸易发展增速逐年放缓,为了深入探讨危机后中国商品出口贸易的发展,文章在分析主要贸易伙伴国（地区）经济发展的周期波动与中国商品出口贸易发展之间关系的基础上,建立了包含经济发展周期波动因素的面板数据模型,定量地研究了主要贸易伙伴国（地区）经济发展对中国商品出口贸易发展的影响效应。研究结果表明：主要贸易伙伴国（地区）的经济发展对中国商品出口贸易发展具有重要的影响,但在经济发展的不同周期阶段,其影响效应具有非对称性,经济发展处于繁荣阶段的拉动效应大于衰退阶段。最后分别从积极参与国际经济事务、促进产业结构转型升级等三个方面,对后危机时期中国商品出口贸易的发展提出了相应的建议。     

Localisation of Industry in Chile, 1895–1967: Mining Cycles and State Policy

Mining cycles have had an enormous impact in the evolution of the localisation of economic activity, in particular of industry, in Chile. The nitrate cycle was characterised by a labour‐intensive extraction process and activity which was geographically very concentrated. The copper cycle was geographically more dispersed and its activity more capital‐intensive. We stress the role played by the State in the latter de‐concentration due to the impact of regional development policies and assess the importance of factor endowments and agglomeration economies, in the localisation of the manufacture.     

外国直接投资与我国对外贸易的实证研究

目前关于外国直接投资(FDI)与一国出口贸易间关系的研究已由最初的定性向定量发展,但多数定量分析集中在直接投资与出口的相关因果关系上。本文则利用我国改革开放以来到加入世贸组织之前的数据,对FDI与我国的出口规模、出口产品结构、出口产品竞争力等进行相关性分析。

广州会议、会展业对广州酒店业的经营影响巨大，尤其是每年两次的交易会给当地酒店带来了大量的客源。随着经济的发展，新会展中心的形成，将使广州的酒店业在需求总量上进一步扩大，但酒店之间的竞争格局会发生改变，尤其是高档酒店之间的竞争会更加激烈，在酒店布局上，形成酒店的东进、南移的新局面。     

Exploring the dynamic spillover of cryptocurrency environmental attention across the commodities,green bonds,and environment-related stocks

We analyze the dynamic spillover impact of cryptocurrency environmental attention (ICEA) on three asset classes: commodities, green bonds (GBs), and environment-related stocks. Our wavelet-based analysis suggests that ICEA is sharply escalated after the first quarter of 2021. During this period of intense attention, only the soybean commodity and Solactive GB tend to move positively and negatively with ICEA, respectively. Accordingly, the clean energy, sustainability, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) stock indices are positively associated with ICEA during 2018–2019 at the medium frequency bands. In most periods and frequency domains, most commodities, GBs, and environment-related stocks are not strongly linked to ICEA. Moreover, Diebold and Yilmaz’s (2014) spillover estimations signify no strong spillover effect of ICEA on the asset classes considered in this study. These findings are further corroborated by the wavelet-based Granger causality analysis. Moreover, our quantile regression (QR) estimations suggest that most assets are adversely influenced by ICEA, depending on the market conditions. Our research conveys some novel and vital policy ramifications to both investors and policymakers.     

后金融危机时期中国货币政策选择——基于美国QE2经济后果的分析

"二次量化宽松政策"(简称QE2)是美联储在国内经济提振乏力、失业率居高不下以及世界经济复苏不平衡的背景下启动的。QE2或许能够使美国走出通缩的泥潭,也有可能催生资产泡沫,酝酿新的金融危机,但却无疑给世界经济,尤其是新兴市场国家的经济继续复苏蒙上了一层阴影,全球热钱将更加泛滥,世界经济秩序将遭到破坏,各国外汇储备将进一步缩水等。对此,我国中央银行货币政策必须加强与财政政策的配合,适时调整外汇储备资产结构,扩大本币结算合作,积极应对QE2的挑战。

文章以单跨70m钢筋混凝土系杆拱桥为例,在运用Midas Civil空间有限元分析软件进行建立模型后对结构数据分析控制修正,取数据分析,使其符合结构设计规范,以求为实践提供借鉴。
