随着我国证券市场的建立,上市公司并购出现快速发展的趋势,但同时存在着制约其发展的一些外部因素。本文建议,应建立健全相关并购法规,减少政府干预,完善证券市场机制及拓宽并购融资渠道,加强与规范中介机构在并购中所起的作用,以推动上市公司并购的健康发展。     

Heterogeneity in Economics

This paper argues that heterogeneity of agents’ characteristics plays a fundamental role in the economy and should do so in economic models. Three aspects are considered. Firstly the notion that assuming heterogeneity was a solution to the problem posed by the results of Sonnenschein Mantel and Debreu is considered and it is suggested that the more pragmatic approach adopted by Hildenbrand is likely to be more productive. Next the role of adaptation and evolution which necessarily involve variety or heterogeneity is examined. It is suggested that heterogeneity will persist since agents will only slowly learn to adapt and that in the meantime the environment will change. Lastly the role of heterogeneity in financial markets is examined. It is suggested that heterogeneous and varying expectations may account for many of the stylised facts which do not seem to be consistent with the standard financial markets model.“Variety is the spice of life”     

Balancing Hate Speech, Professional Ethics, and First Amendment Rights: A Case of and from the Judiciary

As an increasing number of state and local governments pass laws that prohibit discrimination against gay and lesbian employees, individual citizens and groups opposed to such rights continue to fight against them. Although the First Amendment to the United State Constitution guarantees the right to free speech, a potential problem arises when the impartiality of a member of the judiciary is questioned based on free ‘‘hate speech’’ expressed as a private citizen. This paper explores the dilemma the courts face relative to the professional ethics of those who oversee the courts where gay and lesbian and other employees attempt to ensure their rights to fair treatment in the workplace.     

Dynamics of Wheat Prices in the Wake of Market Reforms: The Case of Pakistan

Using Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedastic (ARCH) method, this paper examines the effects of market reforms on the distribution of real mean prices and their variability before and after reforms. It is found that market-oriented reforms benefited producers and consumers alike. Empirical evidences, generally, support theoretical assertion that mean prices decline in most urban areas and increase in those markets that are located in surplus producing areas. The results also showed that market reforms lead to more price volatility.     

我国中小企业选择第三方物流刍议

本文通过对我国中小企业物流存在的问题进行分析,提出了解决中小企业物流“瓶颈”的有效途径,采用第三方物流运作模式。指出中小企业应怎样选择合适的第三方物流服务商。希望以此能够帮助中小企业摆脱其物流滞后的困境。     

企业买壳上市研究

目前,我国企业并购活动的一个重要特征就是企业兼并与收购呈现证券化的趋势。“买壳上市”是上市企业并购活动中的一朵奇葩。所谓“买壳上市”,是指非上市企业通过并购控股上市企业的股份来取得上市地位,然后用反向收购方式注入自己的相关业务和资产,从而达到间接上市的目的。本文就对“买壳上市”的动因、目标“壳”企业的选择、“买壳上市”的实现模式及“买壳上市”中存在的问题等进行探讨。     

经济增长与城乡居民收入——一个实证研究

文章借助VAR模型、协整理论及Granger因果关系检验等分析方法,研究了1985～2004年我国经济增长对居民收入的影响关系。结果表明经济增长与城镇居民收入之间存在显著的长期动态均衡关系,经济增长是城镇居民收入变动的Granger原因;但是经济增长与农村居民收入之间不存在长期均衡关系。经济增长与城乡居民收入的不同关系已发生质的差别。
