Losing the lead: the patenting decision in the light of the disclosure requirement

Empirical findings state that the disclosure requirement might be a reason for firms to rely on secrecy rather than patents to protect their inventions. We choose a dynamic framework in which we can explicitly analyze the patenting decision reflecting the tradeoff between a positive protective effect and a negative effect due to the required disclosure of the protected invention. In spite of a patent, the inventor's rival may still enter the market with a non-infringing product. Measuring the technological lead of the inventor by a time advantage he has compared with his rival, we show that if his headstart exceeds a critical threshold, he will not patent and rather rely on secrecy.

随着现代企业利益关系多元化,利益相关者问题已成为企业治理安排中不可或缺的要素。本文通过紫金矿业案例分析,探索核心利益相关者的利益要求。分析表明,不同核心利益相关者群体,其利益要求以及要求的重视程度存在显著差异;核心股东更为关注企业的生存与发展能力,管理者和员工注重薪酬水平;但他们关注企业经济利益、长期生存与可持续性发展的基本利益取向一致。进一步的因子分析表明,管理者的利益要求可划归九类。不同核心利益相关者群体的利益要求实现程度存在差异,核心股东、高层管理者和中层管理者是充分实现型核心利益相关者,员工和基层管理者是尚未实现型核心利益相关者。

An application of an integrated ANP–QFD framework for sustainable supplier selection

This study provides a novel integrated multi-criteria decision-making approach to sustainable supplier selection problems. Despite the large supply chain management literature on green performance measurement, the need for a systematic analysis of how specific sustainable variables develop and affect each other remains mostly overlooked. The proposed integrated framework allows for such an analysis. By combining analytic network process and quality function deployment, our model identifies a clear hierarchical structure for all the relevant sustainable factors and sub-factors while weighting the decision criteria based on the importance given to customer requirements. Finally, suppliers are ranked using a multi-objective optimisation procedure based on ratio analysis and weighted aggregated sum product assessment. The proposed framework is used to analyse a case study of a dairy company, but it can be easily implemented for supplier selection by any other company with similar features.
