厦门港口物流发展策略的探讨

漳州港区和厦门港区港口一体化改革后,厦门港的发展突飞猛进,但是与周边重要港口相比,厦门港在基础设施以及管理体系上还是存在许多不足。在厦门港口物流发展现状分析的基础上,针对目前厦门港口物流发展存在的问题,提出了相应的对策。

章主要对直通监管运输的基本含义及其优势进行了分析，探讨了山西口岸目前存在的问题及其原因，提出了直通监管运输模式的实施方案。     

A successful British MNE in the backyard of American big business: Explaining the performance of the American and Canadian subsidiaries of Lever Brothers 1888–1914

After 1888, Lever Brothers expanded into the United States and Canada. The surviving archival evidence suggests that the Canadian subsidiary was more successful than the American one. This article considers a number of factors that help to explain why this was the case. Some of the factors considered, such as differences between the Canadian and American tariffs, Canada's more robust system of trademark protection, and the absence of an anti-trust law in Canada before 1908, are related to themes very familiar to business historians. This article also applies concepts that are not part of the normal toolkit of business historians. The article draws on the literature on identity economics and argues that the greater success enjoyed by Lever Brothers in Canada was, in part, rooted in Canada's strongly British identity. The impact of identities on the policymakers, managers, and consumers who collectively shaped the two North American subsidiaries is assessed.

中国积极参与亚太区域经济一体化进程,也为海峡西岸经济区建设带来了新机遇。本文从亚太视野,审视环三都澳区域经济发展面临的机遇和因应的对策思路。     

Recent maritime research projects on the Lower Loire area

This paper deals with the problems of access to an estuary port, the security of navigation and services such as towage provided for shipping. The port triptych is also considered — the port itself, its foreland and hinterland — showing to what extent the port can be seen as a fundamental feature of the regional economy.     

Applying fuzzy quality function deployment (QFD) to identify solutions of service delivery system for port of Kaohsiung

The main purpose of this paper is to apply fuzzy quality function deployment (QFD) model to identify solutions of service delivery system (SDS) for port of Kaohsiung from the viewpoints of customers. At first, to facilitate the main issue of the QFD problem, however, the ‘what’ question of customer needs and ‘how’ problem of the services have to be made, which are two major components and be emphasized on the house of quality (HOQ) matrices. In conjunction with fuzzy sets theory, hence, the systematic procedures using fuzzy QFD were proposed in this paper. Subsequently, a case study for port of Kaohsiung demonstrated the systematic appraisal process for identifying solutions of SDS. The results of empirical study show that (1) 10 key factors are deemed as to have priority to improve the quality of SDS for Kaohsiung port; and (2) eight feasible solutions for improving service quality performance are identified. Moreover, it is suggested that port Authority of Kaohsiung should listen attentively the voice of customers and emphasize on exploiting these customer requirements effectively. And then develop the ‘how’ issues of profiles of solutions, which should continuously strengthen the perspectives of customer, internal business process, and learning and growth, respectively.     

The impact of increasing non-agricultural market access on EU demand for imported fish: implications for Lake Victoria chilled fillet exports

Import demand functions for origin-specific chilled fish filletsto the EU using a Rotterdam-type production model are estimated.Results are used to project the impact of the EU expanding marketaccess to non-African countries. The preference erosion argumentsuggests that the lower tariffs will erode the competitive positionof African countries; however, when the total impact of pricesis considered, expanding preferential access may result in increasedimports from African countries. If tariffs are reduced to zero,the total EU imports are projected to increase by 4.1 per centresulting in a 2.2 per cent increase in chilled fillet importsfrom Lake Victoria.     

An empirical investigation of the seaport’s economic impact: Evidence from major ports in China

In this study, we investigate the impact of the seaport on host city’s economic development. Based on data from 41 major port cities in China over the period 2003–2010, our econometric analysis shows that port cargo throughput has a positive effect on the economic growth of the host city. In addition, the competing ports in the neighborhood have an even larger positive association with the local port city. Through examining some of the most dynamic ports in the world, this study provides a renewed understanding of the economic importance of seaports.     

世界典型港口物流发展模式分析与启示

港口物流发展模式由港口管理模式和港口物流运作模式构成。当今世界典型港口管理模式有私人企业管理模式、以政府机构和国营企业管理模式和各方共同管理模式等三种,而在港口管理模式的大背景下,也形成了地主型物流中心模式、共同出资型物流中心模式、独立型物流中心模式和供应链型与联合型物流中心模式等四种港口物流运作模式。文章认为,根据世界典型港口物流发展成功模式,我国要高效发展港口物流,必须高度重视并合理规划港口管理模式,充分发挥政府的宏观指导与协调作用、认真研究现代港口物流发展的目标定位,大力发展集装箱业务,并积极构建国际物流中心。
