发展中国家的货币错配研究

货币错配是开放型经济普遍存在的一个客观现象,是最近二十多年发展中国家货币金融危机高频发生的一个重要原因,同时使得解决危机的成本变得更为高昂。发展中国家应该理解货币错配形成的机理,高度重视货币错配带来的负面影响,采取有效措施缓解和控制货币错配风险,维护自身金融安全。

Bread and Social Justice: Measurement of Social Welfare and Inequality Using Anthropometrics

We address the question of the measurement of health achievement and inequality in the context of variables exhibiting an inverted-U relation with health and well-being. The chosen approach is to measure separately achievement and inequality in the health increasing range of the variable, from a lower survival bound a to an optimum value m, and in the health decreasing range from m to an upper survival bound b. Because in the health decreasing range, the equally distributed equivalent value associated with a distribution is decreasing in progressive transfers, the paper introduces appropriate relative and absolute achievement and inequality indices to be used for variables exhibiting a negative association with well-being. We then discuss questions pertaining to consistent measurement across health attainments and shortfalls, as well as the ordering of distributions exhibiting an inverted-U relation with well-being. An illustration of the methodology is provided using a group of five Arab countries.     

The Indian broadband plan: A review and implications for theory

Given the benefits of ubiquitous broadband deployment and availability that include economic growth, participation in the Internet economy and increased competitiveness, several countries have launched major national initiatives to accelerate broadband deployment including supporting such initiatives often as a part of their fiscal stimulus plans. These include Afghanistan, Australia, Brazil, India, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Singapore, Sweden, UK and USA and the European Union as a whole.     

以小微古村镇为产业集聚地的苏南新型城镇化战略研究

以小微古村镇为中心实现产业集聚的苏南地区新型城镇化的路子,可谓是一石三鸟：一方面可以就近承接长三角中心城市的产业转移;另一方面也为小微古村镇历史遗存的保护提供了经济支撑;第三,古村镇休闲产业的开发、地方特产的文化品味提炼、特色农业项目的选择都是利用区域资源发展文化产业的有益尝试。文章基于苏南小微古村镇的生存现状提出了分三步走的城镇化路径。     

Time varying consumption covariance and dynamics of the equity premium: Evidence from the G7 countries

We examine implications of time-varying correlation and covariance between excess equity returns and consumption growth for the equity premium of the G7 countries. We find that the correlation and covariance are higher when there is a negative shock to labor income and a positive shock to returns. The combined effect is that the correlation and covariance are countercyclical and so is the equity premium. We test asset pricing models with time-varying consumption risk and find that the conditional price of risk is generally positive. These results survive several robustness checks. Our results highlight the importance of labor income for understanding dynamics of the equity premium.
