Customer Perception in the Health Care Sector:

Customer perceptions of quality play a major role in the success or failure of an organization. Their perception also serves to determine their level of satisfaction or dissatisfaction. This paper will discuss those factors that the customer perceives as "quality" factors and how those factors affect satisfaction. The second section of the paper will look at who is (or should be) responsible for implementing and carrying out the goals of a quality improvement program. A case study of a large hospital located in the American Midwest is also presented. Finally, recommendations for the best way to begin a quality improvement program (i.e., measure customer perceptions of quality, involving everyone, and making a real commitment to this program--forever) will be given.

Discrete credit barrier models

The model introduced in this article is designed to provide a consistent representation for both the real-world and pricing measures for the credit process. We find that good agreement with historical and market data can be achieved across all credit ratings simultaneously. The model is characterized by an underlying stochastic process that takes on values on a discrete lattice and represents credit quality. Rating transitions are associated with barrier crossings and default events are associated with an absorbing state. The stochastic process has state-dependent volatility and jumps which are estimated by using empirical migration and default rates. A risk-neutralizing drift is estimated to consistently match the average spread curves corresponding to all the various ratings.     

我国畜产品出口中的动物福利壁垒探析

随着国际贸易格局的变动和人类生态意识的增强,在畜产品的国际贸易领域,逐渐形成了新的壁垒——动物福利壁垒。我国在动物福利方面尚处于萌芽阶段,发达国家的动物福利壁垒给我国的畜产品出口带来巨大影响,我国应充分发挥政府、行业协会、企业、消费者四个层次的作用,提高我国畜产品应对动物福利壁垒的能力,改善我国畜产品出口贸易状况。     

入世后我国对日本食品贸易发展的问题与对策

日本是我国的主要食品出口贸易市场。入世以后，我国对日出口贸易遭遇严重的绿色壁垒，日本的环保和卫生标准日趋严格。今后我国应该针对日本绿色食品市场的特点，建立与国际接轨的环境管理标准和机制，培育一批从事绿色食品生产的高科技龙头企业，建成具有世界领先水平的绿色食品生产基地，实行“走出去”、“引进来”的发展战略，加强与日本的绿色食品生产的合作，以突破日本的绿色贸易壁垒，有效开拓日本的绿色食品市场。     

Monte Carlo Evaluation of Greeks for Multidimensional Barrier and Lookback Options

In this paper, we consider the problem of the numerical computation of Greeks for a multidimensional barrier and lookback style options: the payoff function depends in a rather general way on the minima and maxima of the coordinates of the d -dimensional underlying asset process. Using Malliavin calculus techniques, we derive additional weights that enable computation of the Greeks using Monte Carlo simulations. Numerical experiments confirm the efficiency of the method. This work is a multidimensional extension of previous results (see Gobet and Kohatsu-Higa 2001 ).
