钢框架刚性节点在双向荷载作用下的性能研究

为研究改变双向弯矩的大小和方向对钢框架刚性节点的抗震性能,采用ANSYS对4个刚性节点的钢框架在双向弯矩作用下进行三维有限元模拟,并且全面、系统地分析了刚性连接钢框架节点在受双向弯矩作用的延性、耗能及破坏形态。研究发现,改变弯矩的大小对刚性连接节点的延性产生较大程度的影响,尤其是弱轴施加弯矩变号时,结构的承载力、耗能性能都随之上升。     

The impact of cross-border acquisitions on target banks’ performance in an institutionally poor environment: Ukraine’s takeover wave

We investigate the impact of the 2005–2007 cross-border bank takeovers in Ukraine – a country with poor institutional quality – on the performance of the target banks. Because acquirers targeted mainly larger, less-capitalised banks, we control for selection bias by combining propensity score matching and a difference-in-difference methodology. We find that the cost efficiency of the acquired banks improved after takeover (because of a decreased reliance on deposits), but that neither their profitability nor their loan market shares increased. Overall, our findings tally only piecemeal with the existing multi-country studies for transition economies. This argues in favour of additional single-country research.     

Two tests for strict exogeneity in a correlated random effects panel data Tobit model

This paper presents two tests for strict exogeneity of the covariates in a correlated random effects panel data Tobit model. The tests are applied in an analysis of hours of work of US women. Estimation procedures when a model does not pass a test for strict exogeneity are discussed.

我国股票市场与经济增长之间究竟存在怎样的关系,在理论界一直存在争议,本文对二者之间的关系进行了理论研究并通过经济计量学中的多元回归模型展开了实证分析,最后得出我国股票市场与经济增长之间存在弱相关性的结论。     

天津市住房市场的有效性测度研究

根据资本市场有效性理论,运用单位根检验、方差比检验、VAR模型和Granger因果检验等方法对天津市住房市场的有效性进行了实证测度,得出了天津市各区住房市场均未达到时间弱有效性和空间弱有效性的结论,并据此给出了提高住房市场有效性的政策建议。     

Who is ruling Europe? Empirical evidence on the German Dominance Hypothesis

The aim of this paper is to analyze the hypothesis of German dominance in the European Monetary System (EMS). For this purpose, we use monthly interest rates for nine European countries from January 1979 to the second half of 1997. In particular, we test the stability of the implied long-run relationships to assess whether there has been a significant change in the EMS performance. The econometric methodology is based on Johansen's maximum likelihood procedure and several tests for parameter instability. The most important finding is that, although Germany has a significant influence on the monetary policy of the other European countries, it is not possible to accept the existence of dominance. Talk,trust and information flow: work relationships between Japanese expatriate and host national employees in Indonesia

This paper broadens the understanding of work relationships between expatriate and host national employees in transnational organisations/corporations, who have tended to be investigated separately. By exploring interpersonal interactions between expatriate and host national employees, this paper highlights the importance of their relationships in the implementation of organisational activities. With a focus on both Japanese expatriate and host national employees in a Japanese organisation in Indonesia, this ethnographic study examines the ways in which they worked in unfamiliar circumstances, managed differences and provided essential support for each other. Their transnational connections, characterised by what Granovetter calls ‘the strength of weak ties’, function to diffuse information and knowledge effectively. I argue the significance of ‘talk’, particularly small talk, as an initial action that supports such information flow and builds trust. This paper attempts to demonstrate the vital roles of expatriate and host national employees as mediators, by using network analysis as a framework. Finally, I conclude that both expatriate and host national employees, the latter often seen merely as backseat players, are in fact keys to the successful activities of transnational organisations/corporations.
