Auctions for social lending: A theoretical analysis

Prosper, today the second largest social lending marketplace with nearly 1.5 million members and $380 million in funded loans, employed an auction mechanism amongst lenders to finance each borrower's loan until 2010. Given that a basic premise of social lending is cheap loans for borrowers, how does the Prosper auction do in terms of the borrower's payment, when lenders are strategic agents with private true interest rates? We first analyze the Prosper auction as a game of complete information and fully characterize its Nash equilibria, and show that the uniform-price Prosper mechanism, while simple, can lead to much larger payments for the borrower than the VCG mechanism. We next compare the Prosper mechanism against the borrower-optimal auction in an incomplete information setting, and conclude by examining the Prosper mechanism when modeled as a dynamic auction, and provide tight bounds on the price for a general class of bidding strategies.

国有商业银行经营风险及内控机制

经营风险问题一直困扰着商业银行的经营者和管理者。尤其是国有商业银行,经营风险激增给其带来了巨大的经济损失,导致经营陷入困境以及银行信誉受到严重影响。这反映出作为预跨和控制商业银行的内控机制存在着严重的问题或缺陷。为此,本文从商业银行的经营风险与内控机制的关系入手,探讨通过建立和完善内控机制来预防和减少经营风险损失。     

IPO share allocation and conflicts of interest

The underwriter of an IPO has two sources of compensation for its services on behalf of the issuer. One is through a commission (spread), the other is by buying issued shares for itself (or its affiliates) and reselling them in the post-issue market. Profits from the former decrease along with the magnitude of underpricing while profits from the latter increase with it. Faced with these countervailing interests, the present paper analyzes how the underwriter decides upon the pricing and allocation of IPOs.

Contracts with endogenous information

I study covert information acquisition and reporting in a principal agent problem allowing for general technologies of information acquisition. When posteriors satisfy two dimensional versions of the standard First Order Stochastic Dominance and Concavity/Convexity of the Distribution Function conditions, a first-order approach is justified. Under the same conditions, informativeness and riskiness of reports are equivalent. High powered contracts, that make the agent's informational rents more risky, are used to increase incentives for information acquisition, insensitive contracts are used to reduce incentives for information gathering. The value of information to the agent is always positive. The value of information to the principal is ambiguous.     

我国货币政策传导机制有效性研究:条件与结论

对几种货币政策传导机制的利用是否有效,取决于市场失衡的程度与开放的程度以及经济发展不同时期的机遇。目前我国新兴市场资金流动与各市场间的联系主要受资产价格传导机制作用的引导,而不是利率传导。人民币升值带来的机遇并非仅发生在商品市场,更发生在资本市场,汇率传导机制的作用虽然影响了出口,但是目前却更有利于资本输出下的海外收购与兼并,从而降低了通货膨胀传递下商品市场的投资成本。

本文分析了开展社会保障基金监管的必要性,列举了当前社会保障基金监管中存在的问题,提出了加强社会保障基金监管的基本思路,特别是建立有效的监管人员控制机制。

股东行为对股票价格的影响-基于博弈论的视角

随着证券市场全流通逐步成为现实，产业资本非控制股权投资将在其中发挥着越发重要的作用。本文基于博弈论的框架，运用计量方法提出了“股东博弈模型”，并结合实例进行了案例分析，在这一过程中，本文创造性地提出了“威胁系数”这一博弈指标，来衡量博弈各方决策行为，为理解资本市场中各种现象如何决定股票价格提供了新的思路。
