小学语文口语交际策略思考

培养学生倾听和表达的口语交际能力,使学生具有文明和谐的人际交流素养,是语文教学的重要任务,对学生终身发展的必要性也越发凸显。而以书面语教学为主的传统语文观的语言能力和交际能力的脱节,致使口语交际教学发展滞后。小学阶段是个人发展语言的黄金时期,如何及时转变口语交际教学观念,跳出旧模式的窠臼,成为小学语文教育中的重要课题。教师只有提高认识,不断探究,寻找对策,才能使不尽如人意的口语交际教学现状得到改观。现就其教学效率的提高谈一些浅见。     

Spirituality In (and Out) of the Classroom: A Pragmatic Approach

This paper is divided into two sections. In the first section, I discuss “what is spirituality?” and in the section that follows, I examine some of the implications of my definition to the teaching of spirituality in an undergraduate business ethics course. For the purposes of this paper, spirituality is defined as the planned experience (the inner feeling) of blending integrity and integration through 1 – acceptance (of the past), 2 – commitment (to the future), 3 – reasonable choice, 4 – mindful action, and 5 –continuous dialog (both internal and external). This definition is a work-in-progress and offered mainly as a point of departure rather than a final destination.     

LearnSmart,adaptive teaching,and student learning effectiveness: An empirical investigation

Facing the growing number of digital natives entering the classroom, business professors look for innovative ways to enhance the student learning experience. The authors focus on the online interactive learning tool LearnSmart (McGraw-Hill, New York, NY), and examine its impact on student learning effectiveness by testing the direct and indirect relationships among perceived competence, perceived challenge, instructors, perceived value, and satisfaction with LearnSmart. Constructionism served as the theoretical foundation for this study. About 215 students at a public university in the United States took the survey and 197 valid responses were received. Regression analysis results showed that the use of LearnSmart improved students' perceived competency, thus increasing their perceived value of using LearnSmart, as well as their satisfaction with LearnSmart. Perceived value was also found to mediate the impact of perceived competency on satisfaction with LearnSmart, and the instructor played a significant role in facilitating and improving student learning. Perceived challenge impacted student's perceived value of using LearnSmart, but it did not influence satisfaction with LearnSmart.     

A comparative study on the effectiveness of English-medium and Turkish-medium accounting education: Gazi University case

The authors explore the effect of medium of instruction on students' attainments at a large state university in Turkey in the Department of Business Administration. The findings indicate no statistically significant difference in grades of 386 students with respect to medium of instruction. As for entry rankings however, those in the English-medium program who had higher scores on the university entrance exam appeared to be more successful. It may be concluded that English-medium instruction is not a disadvantage in attaining learning objectives.     

Can Arabic Proverbs Enhance Arabic-Speaking Students’ Comprehension of Financial Concepts?: An Empirical Study in Randomly Selected Business Schools in Dubai

In this study, we investigated the use of Arabic proverbs and quotes for teaching finance courses to Arabic-speaking students who are nonnative speakers of English. The study found that the use of Arabic proverbs and quotes greatly enhances the students’ comprehension of the finance topics covered. Similarly, the study revealed that the use of Arabic proverbs and quotes for Arabic-speaking students in teaching finance courses creates rapport between the student and instructor, thus enhancing learning. Finally, the study confirmed that the use of Arabic proverbs and quotes for Arabic-speaking students in teaching finance courses does not lead to confusion or complicate matters, but enhances comprehension and bolsters retention.     

影响双语教师教学质量的因素与对策分析

在经济全球化的背景下,高校对国际型人才的培养任务越来越重,要求必须有更多的教师能够胜任双语教学任务。目前看,影响双语教师教学质量的因素即包括教师自身因素,也包括来自于学生、教材、学校等外部的因素。高校要提高双语教师教学质量,既要加强双语教师自身的专业素质和英语能力,也要加强制度建设,这是促进高校双语教学水平的重要因素。     

管理类专业《管理信息系统》教学影响因素研究

影响大学管理类专业《管理信息系统》课程教学效果的因素主要来自三个方面:教师、学生、环境设备。教师方面主要包括教师的知识水平、教学态度、教学方法、教学能力等;学生方面主要是学习意愿、学习能力、学习兴趣以及对教学效果产生重要的影响;环境设备方面主要是教学环境和教学设备。这些问题是普遍存在的并直接影响着课程教学效果,必须有针对性的加以解决。     

项目教学法在高职院校《电子商务概论》教学中的应用研究

《电子商务概论》是一门典型的知识高度复合的课程,课程内容既包含一定的基础理论知识,同时又要有一定的综合实践,为了培养学生学习的主动性与自主创新思维,本文结合高职院校教育教学和课程本身的特点,对项目教学法在《电子商务概论》课程中的应用进行阐述,并介绍了项目教学法在实际教学过程中的具体实施。     

《网页界面设计》课程教学改革初探

本文根据南海东软信息技术学院计算机科学与技术系网站专业教学的现状,以及网页界面设计在网页设计行业日趋凸现的重要性,结合网页界面设计课程教学的实际情况,针对课程特点、就业现状、教学中出现的问题,对此门课程提出了一些教学改革方法,并取得一定效果。     

Learning Approaches and Outcome‐Based Teaching and Learning: A Case Study in Hong Kong,China

Outcome‐based education is a pedagogical process which focuses on the achievement of certain specified results. Outcome‐based teaching and learning (OBTL), therefore, is concerned with curriculum design and ensuring that the contents, delivery, activities, and assessments are all aligned to help facilitate students to attain specific intended learning outcomes. This study explores whether and how outcome‐based teaching impacts on the learning approaches of one cohort of undergraduate business students at a university in Hong Kong, China to undergo outcome‐based teaching, newly introduced as part of a university‐wide policy to adopt OBTL. The learning approaches of these business students were measured using John Biggs's (1987 Biggs, J. 1987. Student approaches to learning and studying, Melbourne: Australian Council for Educational Research.  [Google Scholar]) Study Process Questionnaire (SPQ) to determine whether these students tended to favor surface learning approaches, deep learning approaches, or achieving learning approaches upon initial entry into the university. Changes in learning approaches were tracked, after a semester's exposure to OBTL, through survey and focus group interview methods. Findings indicated a significant amount of transference between learning approaches deployed by these students, demonstrating a high level of adaptability.
