Increased activity by U.S. students to study abroad has invited several studies that have investigated the reasons for U.S. students to study abroad. Literature in the context of study abroad choices has been fragmented, with each study presenting an ad-hoc set of factors the author/s deem as important or that have been shown to be important in previous literature. However, no study to date has attempted to identify a theoretical framework that explains why these factors should be important in explaining the intention to participate in a study abroad program. In this study, we use the theoretical background of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and trait theory to unify the existing body of literature and arrive at a model that predicts study abroad intentions. 责任不清的产品伤害危机中,原有良好品牌声誉能够发挥保护作用,削弱危机的负面影响。基于反说服过程模型和归因理论,作用机制包括三方面:信息接受过程,增加了消费者对信息可靠性的质疑;信息评估过程,影响消费者对原因属性认知倾向于无责性、非故意性和偶然性;信息影响过程,通过抑制负面信息的外溢效应,保护企业内部其他类产品安全性不受质疑。最终,在耐用和非耐用两类产品的情景模拟实验中检验证实:原有良好品牌声誉通过降低信息可靠性、责任归因、稳定性归因和抑制危机负面溢出效应发挥了保护作用,而意图性归因未发挥中介作用。 相似文献

针对1960年以前出生的50岁以上、居住在城市的消费者,研究了不同年龄、教育背景和月收入水平的年长消费者在高科技产品购买意愿方面的差异性,以及决策风格对于高科技产品购买意愿的影响。此外,本文还探讨了年轻一代对于年长消费者的影响,即反向代际影响对于研究人群的决策风格与高科技产品购买意愿之间关系的调节作用。本文通过研究发现不同年龄、教育背景和月收入水平的年长消费者在面对高科技产品时的购买意愿不同。同时,消费者的购物决策风格也会影响到消费者对于高科技产品的购买意愿。此外,反向代际影响对于决策风格和购买意愿之间的关系具有正向调节作用。最后,本文还根据研究结果给出了相应的管理建议。 相似文献

In the present global environment, liberalization of international trade and the intense international competition, it has become more important for multinational corporations (MNCs) to internationalize their business. In the course of the internationalization, it is imperative that MNCs need to offer their employees the possibility of working abroad (called expatriation). However, studies have shown that when expatriates return to the home organization, called repatriation, it is related to many problems and these problems are not always taken seriously. Therefore, this article describes several repatriation processes undertaken by Indian Information Technology (IT) MNCs and how effective they are at lowering repatriates' turnover intentions. To fulfill this objective, first, the article reviews the literature on turnover intention among repatriates and then an empirical quantitative study is developed with a sample of 292 repatriates who have recently returned to India. The results indicated that the surveyed repatriates believed that perceived support during international assignment and upon return from assignment are two most important variables to increase the repatriate's retention and lack of it thereof was likely to generate unfavorable attitudes toward the company and higher turnover intention. 相似文献

Organizations must target talented applicants, who will often be demographically diverse, to attract the most competent and competitive workforce possible. Despite the bottom‐line implications of attracting the best and brightest, surprisingly little is known about how and why diversity recruitment strategies affect recruitment outcomes (e.g., job‐pursuit intentions). To gain insight into this question, we conducted an initial experimental study (N = 194) to test the premise that other‐group orientation moderates the relationship between perceived organizational value of diversity and job‐pursuit intentions. In a follow‐up experiment (N = 255), identity affirmation was examined as the mediating mechanism for the interaction observed in the first study. Mediated moderation analyses supported the proposed model. Collectively, the studies indicate that job seekers high in other‐group orientation are more intent on pursuing employment with organizations deemed to value diversity because they feel that their salient identities are likely to be affirmed. No such indirect effect is present for those lower in other‐group orientation. 相似文献

Research on the impact of the regional environment in the very early phase of the business start-up process is currently limited. This paper contributes to the literature by analysing the influence of regional factors on the formation of entrepreneurial intentions within the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) framework. The rationale is based on the previous literature which posits that regional conditions have implications for individual perceptions, which, in turn, constitute the foundation of the three antecedents of intention in the TPB model: attitudes, subjective norm and perceived behavioural control. A multilevel analysis based on a random sample of 834 Finnish working-age individuals, combined with the official national statistics at the municipality level supports the proposition that regional conditions have an indirect impact on the intent to become an entrepreneur. The population density, the level of education, income and wealth and the rate of public and manufacturing sector employment of a region are found to moderate the individual formation of entrepreneurial intentions. This study supports further development of the theoretical understanding of entrepreneurial intentions by demonstrating that regional characteristics are important moderating influences in the TPB model. 相似文献
