经济周期回落和结构调整的叠加效应使经济回落承受更大的压力，经济出现周期性回落也是毫无疑问的趋势，经济结构调整将增加经济周期性回调的深度以及企业所感受的紧缩的压力，这一叠加效应的产生对于现行政策也展开了挑战。中央和地方政府政策目标函数在总体一致的前提下，可能存在的阶段性政策重点的差异，使得当前在经济增长和抑制通胀的宏观政策取向上还需要进行艰苦的观察和平衡。本土市场和全球市场的互动程度提高使得把握国内经济趋势必须要有全球视野。政策重点应当积极推动经济转型，在保持适度从紧的货币政策基调上，积极放松管制，鼓励市场创新。     

Competitive trade models and real world features

Competitive small-dimension international trade models perform well in comparing free (or restrictive) trade with autarky, especially in emphasizing that consumption patterns can differ from production patterns and that production becomes highly concentrated while consumption patterns are expanded. Variations on these small-dimensional models can usefully show how with trade production patterns may nonetheless be more diverse and a country’s labor force become more heterogeneous in its skills. The paper illustrates how the Middle Products framework can be reinterpreted to support variety in production and in labor skills.      

Clustering at the Movies

Weekly box office revenues for approximately 100 successful motion pictures are analyzed by use of a finite mixture regression technique to determine if regular sales patterns emerge. Based on an exponential decay model applied to market share data, four clusters of movies, varying in opening strength and decay rate, are found. Characteristics of the clusters and implications for future research are discussed.     

Market forces and competition in university systems: theoretical reflections and empirical evidence from Italy

This paper deals with the reforming processes in higher education (HE) from centralised systems towards more competitive ones. In particular, I discuss these issues referring to the Italian case, and the market‐like mechanisms introduced in it during 1990s and early 2000s. The focus of the paper is in analysing the effects of the increasing competition on teaching performance of universities. For this purpose, I develop a theoretical model, moving from the framework of yardstick competition (YC), to describe the functioning of a competition model based on comparing performance of institutions. Then, I apply this model using data from the Italian university system. The results suggest that an increasingly competitive environment effectively improves the universities’ performance, which is also influenced by other factors, namely the characteristics of the institutions themselves and of their students, and by the resources available. As the exploratory nature of the study, these findings must be validated through future research.

公司治理具有两个层面--内部公司治理和外部公司治理.外部公司治理主要是强调资本市场对公司经营活动的制约.从外部环境出发,以资本市场作用机理的角度来分析公司治理,结合当前具体国情,来系统研究资本市场作用机制下的公司治理,目的是提供资本市场公司治理机制的分析架构,并提出若干建议以优化我国的公司治理.     

安徽省住房市场供求总量非均衡实证研究

20世纪90年代以来,安徽省住房市场经常处于非均衡状态。住房有效需求与城镇居民收入呈正相关,与住房销售价格也呈正相关;住房有效供给与商品住宅投资呈正相关,但与住房销售价格呈负相关。1998年以前,住房市场以有效供给过剩为主;1998年以后,住房市场以有效需求过剩为主,表现为需求过热。因此,安徽省房地产宏观调控,要从需求入手,引导居民理性购房,建立合理的住房消费模式。     

资本市场投资回报率与我国养老金体系改革

理论上，投资回报率的高低是我国养老金体系转轨能否成功的关键。本文指出，我国建立基金制养老金体系面临极为特殊的背景——高工资增长率和低投资回报率。基于这个背景，本文认为现阶段进行体制转轨的时机还不成熟，当前需要大力提高我国养老基金的投资回报率或者为提高投资回报率创造条件。本文最后提出了关于提高我国养老基金投资回报率的几点建议。     

Competition and productivity growth in South Africa

This article shows that mark‐ups are significantly higher in South African manufacturing industries than they are in corresponding industries worldwide. We test for the consequences of this low‐level of product market competition on productivity growth. The results of the paper are that high mark‐ups have a large negative impact on productivity growth in South African manufacturing industry. Our results are robust to three different data sources, two alternative measures of productivity growth, and three distinct measures of the mark‐up. Controlling for potential endogeneity of regressors does not eliminate the findings.     

日本企业缘何失意中国市场

日本企业在中国市场的竞争力逐步下降，暴露了日本企业经营管理的缺陷。针对这一问题，从日本企业在中国的投资战略、本土化进程、社会责任及文化差异等方面进行分析，指出日本企业在华投资的竞争力缺失之所在。     

The Effects of Uncertainty on Market Prices: Evidence from Coaching Changes in the NBA

Abstract:  This study examines the effects of uncertainty on market prices. Specifically, we use the National Basketball Association betting market to examine whether uncertainty resulting from midseason coaching changes affects the ability of bettors to accurately set betting lines. We find that uncertainty amid midseason coaching changes results in less accurate pricing, as evidenced by higher volatility and greater overall inaccuracy in betting lines. We also find that uncertainty regarding the ability of the replacement coach and/or his strategies results in less accurate pricing, again evidenced by higher volatility and greater overall inaccuracy in betting lines.
