“比较文学危机论”与中国比较文学学科理论体系建构

21世纪中国比较文学理论进入了体系建构的阶段,这是20年来中国比较文学理论发展的必然结果。只有通过理论体系的建构,中国比较文学才可能真正走向世界,才能有真正的中国学派。文章批驳了英国学者巴斯奈特等人的“比较文学危机论”,认为必须要从新视域来看待比较文学学科,中国比较文学20年来学科理论的发展为世界比较文学提供了参照体系。

Unpacking the Fluidity of Management Accounting Concepts: An Ethnographic Social Site Analysis of Enterprise Risk Management

Abstract

This study offers new insights into what renders management accounting concepts (MACs) fluid. Extant literature depicts how fluidity is an effect of heterogeneous associations among actors, which translate and mobilize them in situated and variegated forms. This focus on heterogeneous arrangements, however, tends to neglect the role of practices and how these practices render MACs fluid. Hence, the study investigates how practices, together with arrangements, which Schatzki (2002. The site of the social: A philosophical account of the constitution of social life and change. University Park, PA: Pennsylvania State University Press) refers to as ‘site’ (i.e. a mesh-work of practice-arrangement bundles), are implicated in MACs’ fluidity. To do so, an ethnography of the MAC ‘Enterprise Risk Management’ (ERM) at the largest division of a multi-national manufacturer was conducted. By analyzing attended risk meetings, the paper shows the ways in which the ERM site prefigures multitudinous paths for carrying on and carrying out risk management activities, which in turn, render the ERM site into a fluid space of intelligibility. These findings indicate that MACs’ fluidity is associated with multidimensional prefigurements that the site produces. With these insights, the paper contributes to understanding how the situated functionality of management accounting comes about, and reveals nuances and multiplicities amid the enabling and constraining space for actions that practiced MACs as mesh-work engender.     

CLOE: a cross-lingual ontology enrichment using multi-agent architecture

ABSTRACT

This article proposes across-lingual ontology enrichment (CLOE) approach for enriching ontologies from amultilingual text or other ontologies. Athree-level hierarchical multi-agent model has been built, where each node is modelled as an agent. This has several advantages: ontologies can be used to enrich other ontologies in adifferent language, several ontologies can be enriched at the same time, and domain-independent. A prototype for the proposed approach has been implemented. Evaluation results are promising, showing considerable precision and recall scores. We believe that this approach is the first such attempt to enrich multiple ontologies using adomain-independent approach.     

Exploring the system of digitised retail design—flattening the ontology

The objective of this article is to combine the two dominant perspectives of retail design— design and business—through systems thinking and flat ontology, in order to understand the ‘store’ as designed by retail designers in the new digital area. Using an abductive case study of the Danish retail design world, this article connects actors into a system, redefines 'the store’ as an interface between retailer and customer, and attaches the metaphors ‘observed universe’ and ‘extended self’ of owner managers to collectively designed spaces. The implication of the study is a retail design (and business) canvas.The article's practical contribution is clarifying the profession of retail design under the condition of digitised retail, and to present a first step towards a system-based theory for retail design.Managerial contributionThe article redefines the store as an interface affording customers' and retailers’ exchange of product and experiential interaction with the aim of providing adequate revenue.     

The lurker in the object

ABSTRACT

A peculiar note from a neighbor of a consumer culture theorist stationed at Miskatonic University who has gone missing arrives for you. The Arkham police have tasked the neighbor with sorting out some seemingly-incoherent academic notes left behind by the professor. In particular, they have tasked him with reaching out to you in order to determine the meaning of a peculiar phrase, “the lurker waits in the object” scrawled into the missing professor's desk. The notes concern several topics, but seem, in the neighbor's opinion, to revolve around object-oriented ontology, horror reality, genre horror, and information by allusion. The neighbor emphasizes that the missing professor may have suffered some mental illness or other tragedy, but has no other viable leads aside from the phrase and notes and begs your expert advice on the topic.     

经济学研究的根本目的及其实现途径——主流经济学的演化和反思

从本体论的角度,经济学研究的基本目的是提高国民和社会的福利,尤其是低收入阶层的福利或生活水平问题。相应地,实现这一目的主要有两个途径：一是在既定的资源情况下如何最大化使用问题,即新古典经济学强调的稀缺性资源的配置问题;二是在使用效率不变的情况下如何增加财富或资源的问题,即古典经济学关心的国民财富如何增长的问题。显然,由于在不同历史时期人们的需求是不同的,从而实现福利增进的途径是不同的,这导致了经济学主流取向的演变;另外,研究人类福利的经济学必然涉及到社会公平和使用效率之间关系的问题,因而现代主流经济学将其研究内容内缩于稀缺性资源配置这单一层面就显得非常片面。     

地理信息模型资源标准化共享框架

模型资源是增强地理信息服务能力的关键内核。地理信息模型资源的专业特性区别于普遍的信息资源,其共享与集成给标准化提出了新课题。文章在对大量文献综述的基础上,分析了地理信息模型资源的标准化共享存在的问题与紧迫需求,从模型分解、模型描述、模型分类与编码和模型本体与本体库构建等方面,提出了地理信息模型资源标准化共享的基本框架。     

What do conferences do? What is academics’ intangible return on investment (ROI) from attending an academic tourism conference?

ABSTRACT

Conferences are funny events. They are self-evident elements of our lives as academics: meetings that occur, often annually; take place in various locations; and involve (hopefully) like-minded people, aiming to share their latest research findings. Conferences are actually so self-evident that very little research exists analysing what takes place at conferences, why people attend them in the first place, and essentially what the conference does to delegates as participants. This article is, on one hand, a reflective report from an academic conference: TEFI 9—Celebrating the Disruptive Power of Caring in Tourism Education. But it is also simultaneously an analysis of the implicit and explicit rationale and return on investment for attending academic conferences, in the words of three, at that time, PhD candidate rapporteurs and one professor rapporteur, who acts as this article’s narrator.
