The Needs of Older Workers in Marketing Organizations

ABSTRACT

As the U. S. population grows older, organizations will have more aging workers in their employ. Marketing professionals are advised to explore the needs of older workers in modern society.     

Assignment of Weights to the Member States of the European Union in Order to Model Their Relative Power Positions

Relative power of the member states of the European Union is expressed by weights assigned to the states on the basis of five criteria: population, gross domestic product, national area, political stability, and contributions to the European culture and civilization. The underlying idea is that ratios of these weights should approximate ratios of the five corresponding indicators. In addition, relative power can be moderated when the large member states save their power for issues about which they care more, and it can be amplified when the large states coordinate their efforts in order to dominate a coalition of smaller states. The results of the analysis are used to sketch a power distribution in the enlarged European Union.     

Political implications of Chinese tourism policy

This study is an examination of the political objectives and probable consequences of the decision to open the People's Republic of China to mass tourism. Through personal interviews and other reports, this article traces the organizational and political dimensions of the abrupt reversal of nearly three decades of restricted and selective foreign access. The author found several anomalies: more “market” oriented cost structure than in most non- socialist developing nations; a hierarchy of tourist classes in a supposedly classless society; liberalization in tourism itineraries along with a freezing of contacts between tourist and Chinese. The article concludes that while China has reaped few tangible political benefits and has incurred some new political vulnerability with its new tourism policy, Chinese tourism has avoided many of the social and economic costs associated with tourism development elsewhere.     

Estimating survivor function using optimally selected order statistics

This paper deals with the estimation of survivor function using optimally selected order statistics when the sample sizen is large. We use the estimates (μ*,σ*) based on the optimum set of order statistics for largen and fixedk (≤n) such that the estimate has optimum variance property. The asymptotic relative efficiency of such an estimator is compared with the one based on the complete sample. The general theory of the problem and specific details with respect to a two-parameter Normal, Logistic, Exponential and Pareto distributions is considered as an example.

利用数据包络分析(DEA)方法对企业员工进行绩效考评,目的是真实、客观地反映员工的工作表现。本文提出运用只有输出(输入)和二次相对有效性的DEA模型对企业员工进行静态与动态的绩效考评,并结合实例进行实证研究,为人力资源管理提供了有价值的方法。     

道路工程项目关键路径上活动相对重要程度的探讨

文章在项目网络结构的基础上,提出了一种排列项目活动相对重要程度的方法.在此基础上,对道路项目网络结构关键路径中的活动相对重要程度进行了研究.本文研究使项目管理人员能识别所有项目活动的相对重要程度,确定项目活动管理的优先秩序,从而为实现项目资源的合理配置和对进度进行有效控制提供了依据.     

The empirical distribution function as a tail estimator

It is shown that the empirical distribution function performs well in tail estimation. Consistency as well as the relative error are considered. The results hold true without any condition on the theoretical distribution function.     

基于收入流动视角的贫困村互助资金运行绩效研究

依据5省10县“贫困村互助资金”三期追踪数据，基于收入流动视角，考量贫困村互助资金对农村居民收入流动性的影响。结果表明：尽管互助资金存在一定程度的精英俘获现象，但随着互助资金的发展，低收入群体逐渐有更多的惠及，短期参与互助资金有助于农户收入的向上流动；长期持续参与的农户向上流动的概率更高，且参与后持续使用的农户，收入流动性更强，增长流动的贡献更高。
