翻译功能研究

经济和文化全球化进程的加快,进一步彰显翻译的重要性,而对翻译功能的讨论也成为人们关注的焦点之一。翻译研究的不断深化,使得翻译不断被赋予新的内容,越发凸显其复杂性和丰富性。本文通过系统研究,从语言、交际、文化、社会发展等几个方面具体探讨了翻译功能。     

英汉指示代词及其翻译研究

英汉指示代词在语言和意义功能方面存在着差异,英汉互译过程中,不可能形成——对应的关系。译者应注意它们的意义功能及两种语言的表达习惯,选择相应的翻译策略。     

Disaggregating and reaggregating work: Workers,management and the struggle over creating coherency and purpose in a context of work degradation

The article argues that whilst there is a growing sense of degradation and worsening conditions (disaggregation) of work in the cleaning sector in general, there are some important contradictions which require complex organisational responses. In the main, there is a growing sense of isolation in this work, yet also a growing perception of autonomy and workers having to use discretion in new and challenging ways. This article focuses on these issues and management responses to reaggregate the nature of such work, creating new forms of identity and activities intended to enhance (or address) the levels of stability and sustainability at work as well as in operational processes. This management conundrum means that they need to deal with a range of job‐related, skill‐oriented worker learning and also representation issues. These responses bring to the fore the contested nature of such forms of work and how they are changing.     

翻译法与交际法互补研究

翻译法和交际法是外语教学两种常用的方法.外语教学界关于这两种教学法的争论由来已久,比较翻译法和交际法有其各自的优点和缺点,教师在大学英语教学实践中应正确对待两种教学方法,努力做到各取其长,融合贯通,相互补充.     

译前编辑与译后编辑分别使用机器翻译的对比——以英国诺里奇市城堡博物馆的荷兰画作简介的翻译为例

以英国诺里奇市城堡博物馆网站的荷兰画作简介为例,使用当下网民最常用的网络在线翻译工具之一＂Google翻译＂来对博物馆的精品画作馆藏介绍进行翻译。主要通过译前编辑使用＂Google翻译＂与译后编辑使用＂Google翻译＂,对两种不同的翻译方式所产生的译文效果、翻译过程中所产生的问题,以及完成翻译所需要耗费的时长进行对比与分析,寻找尽可能高效及优质的方法翻译源语文本;同时,发现并提出在线翻译工具需要改进的方面。     

从接受美学理论看目的语文本与源语文本的关系

接受美学理论认为,文本只有在读者积极参与下才能成为文学作品.翻译过程中,源语文本在译者积极动态的介入下,将未定性和开放性的文本形成并不完全对等的目的语文本,两者之间同中有异,互补互足.

The Layoff Rat Race*

We investigate how discretionary investments in general and specific human capital are affected by the possibility of layoffs. After investments are made, firms may have to lay off workers, and will do so in inverse order of the profit that each worker generates. Greater skill investments, especially in specific human capital, contribute more to a firm's bottom line, so that workers who make those investments will be laid off last. We show that as long as workers' bargaining positions are not too weak, workers invest in specific human capital in order to reduce layoff probabilities. Indeed, workers over‐invest in skill acquisition from a social perspective whenever their bargaining power is strong enough, even though they only receive a share of any investment. More generally, we characterize how equilibrium skill investments are affected by the distribution of worker abilities within firms, the probability that a firm will downsize, and the distribution of employment opportunities in the economy.     

习语翻译中的关联缺失与关联重建

由于交际语言、交际对象及认知语境的变化,习语翻译过程中出现关联缺失现象,译者在尽力保留源习语语言、文化意义及交际意图的同时,应充分考虑译文读者的认知语境,采用灵活手段在译文中重建关联。     

交际翻译与语义翻译原则在英诗翻译中的运用

翻译界对诗歌是否可译的争论主要源于强调原文与译文在意义和形式上的完全对等,有一定的局限性。诗歌翻译应以语义翻译和交际翻译理论为指导,以译文读者为重心,实行语义翻译和交际翻译相结合,即语义翻译是前提,交际翻译为目标,并侧重于交际翻译的原则。
