Although flexibility has been considered critical in responding to uncertainty in a business environment, few studies have explored firms' flexibility in sustainable development. To understand the nature of firms that can respond better to uncertainty in their sustainable development practices, this study defines sustainable development flexibility and investigates the mechanism underlying its formation. The study proposes a conceptual framework on the interactions of managers' environmental attitude and cognitive style, as well as firms' information integration on sustainable development flexibility. A questionnaire survey was developed to test the corresponding hypotheses, and 241 valid responses were received from middle- and top-level managers in Chinese firms. The results show that (a) the higher the manager's environmental attitude, the higher the firm's information integration and greater sustainable supply chain flexibility, and (b) the more intuitive the manager's cognitive style, the greater the impact of environmental attitude on sustainable development flexibility. 相似文献

The authors set out to determine the brain dominance characteristics of students enrolled in business statistics courses in a historically Black university in a major southeastern Texas city. Thereafter, the authors investigated the relationship between a student’s brain hemispheric preference and academic performance in college courses, which emphasize problem solving. The results reported in this study reveal that left brain– and right brain–dominant students are at parity when it comes to performance in a problem-solving course. Moreover, both left brain– and right brain–dominant learners perform better than whole-brain dominant learners in a problem-solving course. 相似文献

Visual processing style, defined as the relative propensity to engage in visual processing rather than verbal processing, is an individual difference variable that has been frequently investigated in the consumer psychology literature. Surprisingly, numerous studies have reported no relationship between visual processing style and viewer responses to visual elements of persuasion. We argue that this accumulation of null results is due to untenable historical theoretical assumptions that underlie the construct, along with methodological problems that are inevitably brought about by those theoretical assumptions. We reconceptualize visual processing style and test an alternative empirical operationalization of it. Using both new data and a reanalysis of data published in the Journal of Consumer Research, we find the old approach yields null results, but we find the new approach yields the expected results. The new approach reinstates the utility of incorporating propensity to engage in visual processing as an individual difference variable into consumer psychology models of visual persuasion, and it reinstates a powerful individual difference variable that can help push forward the investigation of the unique aspects of visual persuasion. 相似文献

This study seeks to compare the management styles of local and foreign hotel chains operating in Turkey from a cultural dimensions perspective. It aims to build a link between cultural values and management styles. The data was collected through conducting survey with 596 mid-level and senior managers working in 101 foreign and 66 domestic hotel chains operating in Turkey. The empirical results confirm that there are similarities in all the supervision style, decision-making, communication pattern, control mechanism, interdepartmental relations and paternalistic orientation dimensions of Turkey/United States, France/United Kingdom and United States/United Kingdom-based hotel chains. Furthermore, the results also evidence that there are differences in the supervision style, communication pattern and paternalistic orientation dimensions of Turkey/France and Turkey/United Kingdom-based hotel chains. 相似文献

This study contributes to the growing body of literature investigating how and why consumers form connections to brands by applying an attachment theoretical framework. According to the attachment theory, children develop internal working models of the reliability of others in the interaction with the primary caregiver(s). It can be assumed that this attachment style, which is conceptualized along two dimensions (secure–anxious and dependent–independent), not only influences intimate relationships in the long run, but may also play an important role in customer relationships. The author investigates the influence of attachment style along the brand attachment – brand trust and brand loyalty chain. The sample consists of 216 adolescents. The results derived from structural equation modeling (SEM) by proposing a non-recursive model show that the dependent–independent dimension of parental attachment style positively influences the corresponding dimension of brand attachment predisposition and is important for all of the constructs along the brand attachment – brand trust and brand loyalty chain. However, this is not the case with the secure–anxious dimension of parental attachment style. The secure–anxious dimension of brand attachment predisposition does, on the other hand, have a significant impact at least on brand trust. The results are discussed from an attachment theoretical point of view and corroborate the suppositions of Rindfleisch, Burroughs, and Wong (2009), who grounded their findings on terror management theory. Several possible implications of these results for the theory and practice of brand management and advertising, especially in the light of the gamification of advertising, are discussed. 相似文献

在团队决策过程中,冲突在所难免。单纯的任务冲突能促使成员交换不同意见,更深刻地理解团队任务,有利于提高团队决策绩效;但任务冲突往往又会引发关系冲突,关系冲突一旦产生,就会对整个团队的决策绩效产生较大的负面影响。要提高团队决策绩效,关键在于有效抑制任务冲突向关系冲突的转化。鉴于团队领导能够显著影响团队的内部互动及团队结果,本研究在团队决策过程中引入了领导风格这一变量,通过行为实验模拟团队决策过程,来对比研究务实型领导风格和魅力型领导风格对任务冲突和关系冲突之间关系的影响。结果表明,务实型领导风格比魅力型领导风格更能有效抑制任务冲突向关系冲突的转化。 相似文献

基金投资风格是双刃剑,带来短期超额收益同时也具有巨大漂移风险。目前我国基金信息披露制度不完善,相关监管缺失,加上投资者大多只注重收益而忽视风险,导致基金投资风格漂移现象普遍存在。选取2004年7月前成立的65只偏股型基金为样本,对样本基金在2005—2012年的实际投资风格进行识别,并检验基金业绩与风格漂移的关系,结果显示:基金存在严重的投资风格漂移现象,而且漂移随股市走势变化明显,基金整体上投资风格趋同;在价值/成长风格的漂移方面,大多数基金投资风格倾向于成长型或平衡型,价值型风格缺乏;在大/小盘风格的漂移方面,基金投资风格均匀分布于大盘和小盘,某些年份随股市走势变化,风格漂移明显且趋同;过去业绩越好的基金越容易发生投资风格漂移,且投资风格漂移并不能带来基金业绩的改善。 相似文献
