Cross-mode surveys are on the rise. The current study compares levels of response styles across three modes of data collection:
paper-and-pencil questionnaires, telephone interviews, and online questionnaires. The authors make the comparison in terms
of acquiescence, disacquiescence, and extreme and midpoint response styles. To do this, they propose a new method, namely,
the representative indicators response style means and covariance structure (RIRSMACS) method. This method contributes to
the literature in important ways. First, it offers a simultaneous operationalization of multiple response styles. The model
accounts for dependencies among response style indicators due to their reliance on common item sets. Second, it accounts for
random error in the response style measures. As a consequence, random error in response style measures is not passed on to
corrected measures. The method can detect and correct cross-mode response style differences in cases where measurement invariance
testing and multitrait multimethod designs are inadequate. The authors demonstrate and discuss the practical and theoretical
advantages of the RIRSMACS approach over traditional methods.

This paper discusses the entrepreneurial landscape in Africa and locates a new generation of African entrepreneurs and their business networks within it. Unlike others in that landscape (i.e. micro- or small-scale informal sector vendors, and traditional or multinational large-scale formal sector firms), the ‘new generation’ entrepreneurs are business globalists who organized a system of business enterprise networks consisting of national, regional, and pan-African organizations. The study analyses interview data from 57 men and women network members from 10 countries (Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Senegal, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe). Some defining characteristics of these entrepreneurs are interactive social and business relationships, use of modern management methods and information technology, trust among fellow members, transparent business practices, advocacy on behalf of the private sector, and commitment to increasing intra-African commerce. Their mission is to improve the climate for private sector business in Africa and to promote regional economic integration. They pursue cross-national commercial ventures, maintain official observer status at established regional economic organizations, sign memoranda of understanding with multilateral agencies, establish venture capital funds, and help to change government policies. The paper identifies characteristics of the ‘new generation’ entrepreneurs, evaluates goals and achievements of their networks, and concludes that despite limitations, these entrepreneurs and their organizations have created intra- and cross-national networks that strengthen private-sector-led economic growth in Africa. 相似文献

This paper focuses on the likelihood of firms adopting corporate entrepreneurship in response to the challenges and opportunities
presented by a change in their business environment shaped by the growth of the Internet. We further examined if firms are
willing to modify their existing systems in response to such a change. We also investigated the paths or modes of entrepreneurship
that firms would adopt when they perceive being entrepreneurial to be a viable response in light of a specific change in their
business environment. Finally, we identified the impediments that firms may need to overcome when adopting corporate entrepreneurship.
Results based on the data from senior executives lend support to our hypotheses. Managerial implications of the results are

This article adopts an aidnographic approach to examine how internal organizational modes of ordering have influenced tourism development practices of SNV Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV). Our research revealed six modes of ordering: administration, project management, enterprising, development brokering, development visioning and result management. In each period the organization was involved with tourism a particular mix of modes of ordering prevailed. This mix influenced how SNV evolved from an organization implementing own-managed tourism projects, to facilitating capacity building in multi-stakeholder approaches to finally developing complex inclusive destination development projects. This paper explores business-to-business (B2B) marketing on the Internet, and how the confluence of the two may transform the B2B landscape. Specifically, it discusses the notion of linkage value to demonstrate why the B2B phenomenon on the Internet is so significant. It then considers the mechanisms and enablers that have made the Web such an important B2B marketing channel. It also explores how the Web can reduce transaction costs, thereby facilitating more efficient exchanges and markets. The concepts of links and nodes are then introduced and the processes of disintermediation, reintermediation, disaggregation and reaggregation are explored. Finally, Web B2B configurations are considered by way of a model that describes four archetypal configurations, and the factors that are antecedent to these modes and how the Web may influence them. 相似文献
