浅议加强高校图书馆流通图书的管理

高校图书馆流通图书的乱架、破损和丢失现状，既有来自读者方面的原因，也有源自管理者的因素，必须加强监管措施，设立图书保护专职管理部门，把好藏书入库质量关，建立毁损图书登记制度，加强图书馆业务宣传，引导大学生自发创立读者协会，建立大学生借阅图书诚信档案，提高管理人员素质，妥善处理好管理者和读者的关系。     

Business Ethics Books: A Bookshop Survey

This paper discusses the extent to which books about business ethics are purchased or read outside of tertiary institutions in Australia, whether the subject is commonly perceived as business, philosophy or both, what range of business ethics books is commonly offered for purchase, and what conclusions might be drawn from the above considerations. Investigation shows that the range and availability of business ethics books is quite limited outside of tertiary institutions, and that the general perception is that business ethics is something which pertains specifically to business rather than to moral philosophy. It is likely that this tends to isolate the subject from philosophy as broadly conceived in the minds of business practitioners.     

A liquidity-based model for asset price bubbles

We provide a new liquidity-based model for financial asset price bubbles that explains bubble formation and bubble bursting. The martingale approach to modeling price bubbles assumes that the asset's market price process is exogenous and the fundamental price, the expected future cash flows under a martingale measure, is endogenous. In contrast, we define the asset's fundamental price process exogenously and asset price bubbles are endogenously determined by market trading activity. This enables us to generate a model that explains both bubble formation and bubble bursting. In our model, the quantity impact of trading activity on the fundamental price process—liquidity risk—is what generates price bubbles. We study the conditions under which asset price bubbles are consistent with no arbitrage opportunities and we relate our definition of the fundamental price process to the classical definition.

目的:探索图书管理人员同感心与情商的运用,提高专业水平和综合素质。方法:分析同感心与情商的理论意义,找出对图书管理人员应用的技巧及培训方法。结果:通过对我校图书管理人员同感心与情商知识的培训,从问卷调查中得知图书管理人员的沟通能力、情绪认知及服务意识等显著提高。结论:运用同感心是图书管理人员与读者有效沟通的技巧,是提供个性化服务的有效方式;把情商渗透到图书管理工作各环节,不仅体现专业价值,同时收到良好的服务效果。

随着互联网这一新兴媒体的普及,数字出版的总产值开始超越传统出版,"长尾理论"和4C营销理论结合,再加上Web2.0技术的运用,创新了图书营销模式。图书出版从"内容为王"走向"目录为王",图书馆因其先天的优势能满足读者的各种需求,使其有条件介入图书出版发行的终端,此举既丰富了图书馆的功能,又开启了图书馆的新时代。     

Paying People to Lie: the Truth about the Budgeting Process

This paper analyzes the counterproductive effects associated with using budgets or targets in an organisation's performance measurement and compensation systems. Paying people on the basis of how their performance relates to a budget or target causes people to game the system and in doing so to destroy value in two main ways: (a) both superiors and subordinates lie in the formulation of budgets and, therefore, gut the budgeting process of the critical unbiased information that is required to coordinate the activities of disparate parts of an organisation, and (b) they game the realisation of the budgets or targets and in doing so destroy value for their organisations. Although most managers and analysts understand that budget gaming is widespread, few understand the huge costs it imposes on organisations and how to lower them. My purpose in this paper is to explain exactly how this happens and how managers and firms can stop this counter‐productive cycle. The key lies not in destroying the budgeting systems, but in changing the way organisations pay people. In particular to stop this highly counter‐productive behaviour we must stop using budgets or targets in the compensation formulas and promotion systems for employees and managers. This means taking all kinks, discontinuities and non‐linearities out of the pay‐for‐performance profile of each employee and manager. Such purely linear compensation formulas provide no incentives to lie, or to withhold and distort information, or to game the system. While the evidence on the costs of these systems is not extensive, I believe that solving the problems could easily result in large productivity and value increases – sometimes as much as 50–100% improvements in productivity. I believe the less intensive reliance on such budget/target systems is an important cause of the increased productivity of entrepreneurial and LBO firms. Moreover, eliminating budget/target‐induced gaming from the management system will eliminate one of the major forces leading to the general loss of integrity in organisations. People are taught to lie in these pervasive budgeting systems because if they tell the truth they often get punished and if they lie they get rewarded. Once taught to lie in this system people generally cannot help but extend that behaviour to all sorts of other relationships in the organisation.     

刊刻序跋在古籍版本鉴定中的重要作用

根据与古籍合刊的序跋来鉴定古籍的版本,是古籍版本鉴定中最常用和比较可靠的方法。从古籍版本鉴定工作需要出发,古籍序跋可以分为:写书序跋、学术评介序跋、版本考据序跋和刊刻序跋。在古籍版本鉴定过程中,这4种序跋所能起到的作用是不一样的。其中,刊刻序跋是确定古籍版本最直接最有力的证据。     

Latency and liquidity provision in a limit order book

We use a recent, high-quality data set from Nasdaq to perform an empirical analysis of order flow in a limit order book before and after the arrival of a market order. For each of the stocks that we study, we identify a sequence of distinct phases across which the net flow of orders differs considerably. We note that some of our results are consistent with the widely reported phenomenon of stimulated refill, but that others are not. We therefore propose alternative mechanical and strategic motivations for the behaviour that we observe. Based on our findings, we argue that strategic liquidity providers consider both adverse selection and expected waiting costs when deciding how to act.
