Supply chain environmental investments in dynamic industries: Comparing investment and performance differences with static industries

Research linking investments in environmental practices to firm performance has matured over the past years. However, empirical research is still ambiguous on how and whether investments in environmental practices improve a plant's performance. We believe that contingency factors, especially the industry in which plants act has a significant role in the success of environmental investments. Using empirical data collected across a wide range of industries our results indicate that plants competing in dynamic industries such as apparel do on average invest less in supply chain environmental practices compared to plants in static industries. In addition, these environmental investments do not significantly improve operational performance in dynamic industries in terms of cost, quality, delivery and flexibility. However, in static industries environmental investments do significantly improve a plant's operational performance in terms of cost, quality and flexibility.     

电子商务ODR争议解决机制研究

现阶段,对于有效解决电子商务纠纷问题,我国传统的争议解决模式已不适用,主要是在法律准备、裁判执行力、行政手段参与及纠纷解决成本方面都存在困境。ODR作为ADR在网络空间的拓展和延伸,可有效弥补传统争议解决机制的不足。需要高度关注的问题是ODR作为一把双刃剑,在具备了比传统争议解决方式更多优点的同时,也暴露出了解决机制缺乏有效性、解决结果执行缺乏保障性、保密和信任机制不完善等诸多问题。我国应以立法方式确定ODR裁决的效力;进一步加快网络信息平台建设,切实加强区域间及国际间合作,从而有效推进我国ODR模式的快速发展,更好的维护网络消费者合法权益。     

农民组织化：反思与展望

农民组织化问题的本质是生产关系对生产力发展的适应性问题;提高农民组织化程度是调整农村生产关系的必然要求。提高农民组织化程度应该是一个渐进的、不平衡的过程;自下而上的农民专业合作组织是农民组织化的主要形式;农民合作组织应该是多元的、规范的,它的桥梁媒介作用日趋明显。

Commitment to Sustainability in Small and Medium‐Sized Enterprises: The Influence of Strategic Orientations and Management Values

Ecosystem degradation and social sustainability have become important issues in the corporate sphere during the last few decades. However, research discussing corporate social responsibility and related concepts has often focused on larger companies, sometimes neglecting the specifics of small and medium‐sized enterprises (SMEs). The main purpose of this study is to examine the relationships between two common strategic orientations, market orientation (MO) and entrepreneurial orientation (EO), in relation to sustainability commitment, sustainability practices and management values in SMEs. Questionnaire responses from 450 Swedish SMEs were analyzed, confirming the influence of MO, EO and sustainability practices on commitment to sustainability, implying that firms committed to sustainability see both market and entrepreneurial advantages of sustainability. The results also show that different parts of MO and EO differ in importance for commitment to sustainability among SMEs. Implications concern the importance for firms and policymakers to work with sustainability issues using both internal and external perspectives. © 2015 The Authors.
