‘A Comparison of the Contents of the Codes of Ethics of Canada’s Largest Corporations in 1992 and 2003’

This paper compares the findings of content analyses of the corporate codes of ethics of Canada’s largest corporations in 1992 and 2003. For both years, a modified version of a technique used in several other studies was used to determine and categorize the contents of the codes. It was found, inter alia, that, in 2003, as in 1992, more of the codes were concerned with conduct against the firm than with conduct on behalf of the firm. Among the changes from 1992 to 2003 were a significant increase in the frequency of mention of environmental affairs, legal responsibility as the basis of codes and enforcement/compliance procedures.     

Political actions in business networks a Swedish case

In international business studies, as well as in political science, the influence of political rules on business firms is assumed to be homogeneous and unidirectional. However, if the relationship between the political and the business actors is seen as an interaction, a different conclusion will be reached. We would like to add more knowledge to international business studies by analysing the interaction between governmental bodies and business units using a network model. In this paper, we study a ‘political case’ — the Bofors-India case — and analyse how this affair influenced other Swedish companies and their way of doing business in India. The question addressed is how the interaction between some parts of the government and a company — the development of one business relationship — is interwoven with other relationships. One conclusion reached is that a political act toward one MNC will affect other companies, although not in the same way. The degree to which and the way in which the other companies will be influenced depends on where they are positioned within the networks in relation to the problematic relationship.

专利产品的平行进口是国际贸易中的常见问题，关系到专利权人和社会公众之间的利益平衡，必须认真对待。国外对这个问题存在不同的看法。本文拟通过分析专利产品平行进口的特殊性和比较国外有关规定，针对我国如何对待专利产品的平行进口问题提出构想。     

The self-catering accommodation sector in Yorkshire,England

Little baseline data exist concerning the outlook and business practices of those operating in the self-catering accommodation sector. Drawing on a survey of operators in Yorkshire, England, this paper finds a concentration of micro-enterprises that are unsophisticated in their approach to managing their business. The findings pose challenges to those agencies charged with enhancing the competitiveness of the sector.     

中国入境旅游外汇收入季节调整实证分析

旅游业的行业特点决定了中国入境旅游时间序列的发展趋势中存在明显的季节变动因素及不规则因素.本文利用X-12-ARIMA季节调整方法,把中国入境旅游外汇收入序列具体分解为长期趋势因素、季节变动因素及不规则因素,并对各构成因素作了简要分析,以期能对中国入境旅游业的变动规律给出一个相对客观的认识.     

旅游规划需要新理念--旅游规划三议

为了适应我国旅游业的发展，为了我国旅游规划工作能够沿着科学化、法制化、规范化的轨道前进，旅游规划的编制迫切需要理念的创新。本文从“新理念是发展的需要”、“进步带来的挑战”、“旅游概念是旅游规划的核心”三个层面，以层层推进的方式，着重阐述了应对挑战寻求突破的学术基础，并进而阐释了作者本人有关“概念性旅游规划”的创新性理论。     

股权激励存在持续性的激励效应吗？--基于倾向得分匹配法的实证分析

为克服样本选择偏误,本文采用倾向得分匹配法,在六年的时间框架内检验了股权激励效应的持续性问题。研究发现：整体而言,激励组的ROE和Tobin’s Q值均显著高于控制组,说明股权激励能有效地提高企业的财务绩效和市场价值;激励组的ROE在股权激励计划实施后的三年时间里均显著高于控制组,三年之后逐渐与控制组无显著差异,表明股权激励对企业财务绩效的提升作用能持续三年时间;激励组的Tobin’s Q值在实施的第一年与控制组无显著差异,但在随后的四年时间里均显著高于控制组,表明股权激励对企业市场价值存在长达四年的持续提升作用,但存在为期一年的时滞效应。     

高新技术企业综合评估系统研究

对高新技术企业的评估是一项非常重要的工作,因为它直接关系到对高新技术企业投资的成功与否。根据我国实际情况,结合国内外已有的研究成果,运用AHP法建立高新技术企业评估指标体系,并且利用模糊数学建立高新技术企业综合评估模型,旨在较好地解决对高新技术企业评估的问题。     

Prisoner’s Dilemmas, Cooperative Norms, and Codes of Business Ethics

Prisoner's dilemmas can lead rational people to interact in ways that lead to persistent inefficiencies. These dilemmas create a problem for institutional designers to solve: devise institutions that realign individual incentives to achieve collectively rational outcomes. I will argue that we do not always want to eliminate misalignments between individual incentives and efficient outcomes. Sometimes we want to preserve prisoner's dilemmas, even when we know that they systematically will lead to inefficiencies. No doubt, prisoner's dilemmas can create problems, but they also create opportunities to practice the cooperative norms that make market institutions possible in the first place. An ethical market culture, I argue, benefits from the presence of prisoner's dilemmas. I first consider standard approaches for solving prisoner's dilemmas. I then argue for the value of prisoner's dilemmas. Finally, I show the significance of this argument for advocating codes of business ethics.
