Social networks,rule of law and economic growth in China: The elusive pursuit of the right combination of private and public ordering

Social networks have always been an integral part of every society. However, they are different and play a more prominent role in Asian societies. In particular, it will be argued that the relationship of private ordering, networks of relationships, and informal law to formal law are necessary in addition to rule of law for a sustained economic growth. This is evident in how various Asian countries escaped the financial crisis that crippled the region. Rather than an analysis of several different Asian societies, China will be the main focus.     

Work environment and atmosphere: The role of organizational support in the creativity performance of tourism and hospitality organizations

In this study, we developed and tested a new model of how organizational support affects the organizational work environment and atmosphere that facilitates creativity. A field study of 320 employees showed that organizational support was positively related to the work environment for knowledge sharing, motivation, procedural justice, and promotion. Further, the work environment plays a mediating role between organizational support and employee creativity. These measures of an organization's environment of procedural justice are related to employees’ motivation and knowledge sharing, which predict employees’ promotion.     

农业信贷限制与发展模式初探

现在的农业信贷市场上存在着诸多问题,本文重点分析了贷款利率的上浮限制对农业贷款量的影响,指出在一定程度上影响了农业贷款的增长。并进一步从农户角度探讨了降低农业贷款风险的模式——农村合作经济组织,创新性地提出了农业贷款市场中存在的Backward bending,最后给出了相应的对策与建议。

Organizational Structure and Managerial Decisions

We investigate how the organizational structure of a firm influences the decision making of its top management. Different organizational structures lead information to be processed in different ways by the individual decision makers, potentially creating an informational cascade within the organization. We analyze two organizational structures: the first inducing sequential information processing, the second inducing batch information processing. In particular, we characterize the optimal organizational structure using the signal precision of the top manager, i.e., the value of his private information.     

Impacts of WTO restrictions on subsidized EU sugar exports

The study evaluates the impact of World Trade Organization (WTO) restrictions on the European Union (EU) sugar sector and the world sugar market. A small reduction in production quotas would be sufficient to satisfy the export subsidy limitations of the Uruguay Round agreement. Complete elimination of export subsidies by 2005 would require either a 10% reduction in production quotas or the combination of an 8% reduction in quotas and an 11% reduction in intervention prices. Higher world prices resulting from reduced EU exports would result in increased production of unsubsidized C‐sugar, with different impacts across EU member countries explained by differences in institutional pricing arrangements and marginal production costs.

将创新群集因素引入产业粘性的分析框架,认为正是由于东部地区的制度、技术、组织创新群集优势大大增强了劳动密集型产业的竞争优势,并使得劳动密集型产业产生较大的极化效应,而技术的溢出效应又因创新群集而在区域内部消化,由此尽管西部地区的劳动力和土地成本存在比较优势,但劳动密集型产业仍无法顺利向西部转移。

对城镇化背景下农民专业合作社法律问题的考察

近年来,农民专业合作社发展迅速,并且将成为引领我国农业生产经营体制创新的重要主体,已经成为我国主要的市场主体之一。而根据传统的民商法理论已经不能清楚地判断农村专业合作社的法律性质,使得理论界对此产生争议。本文从对农民专业合作社的性质、类型等相关问题进行分析研究,明确其在民商事法律关系中的法律地位,并对城镇化背景下农民专业合作社发展的前景进行探究。
