Intelligent Systems in Accounting,Finance and Management: ISI journal and proceeding citations,and research issues from most‐cited papers

This paper analyses the citations from Intelligent Systems in Accounting, Finance and Management that have occurred in ISI's Web of Knowledge in February 2010. I found roughly 1000 citations to the journal under 10 different journal name abbreviations, with roughly 25% of the citations occurring during 2008–2009, associated with 27 of the more frequently cited papers. Using that citation data, the H‐index and the 40 (42 with ties) most‐cited papers are presented. I found that ISI's new proceedings data appear to have a different citation pattern than ISI's journal citation data, resulting in citations to more sources, but fewer citations per source. I also examine the research methodologies and applications of the most‐cited papers in an attempt to determine what areas have been cited most and where there are potential gaps in the research. Dynamics between patent latent variables and patent price

This paper focuses on studying the relationship between patent latent variables and patent price. From the existing literature, seven patent latent variables, namely age, generality, originality, foreign filings, technology field, forward citations, and backward citations were identified as having an influence on patent value. We used Ocean Tomo's patent auction price data in this study. We transformed the price and the predictor variables (excluding the dummy variables) to its logarithmic value. The OLS estimates revealed that forward citations and foreign filings were positively correlated to price. Both the variables jointly explained 14.79% of the variance in patent pricing. We did not find sufficient evidence to come up with any definite conclusions on the relationship between price and the variables such as age, technology field, generality, backward citations and originality. The Heckman two-stage sample selection model was used to test for selection bias.

Measurement,incentives and constraintsin Stigler's economics of science *

Abstract

George J. Stigler's seminal role as one of the founders of the economics of science is summarized and evaluated. His main contribution rests in his asking an array of important questions and arguing persuasively for the application of empirical, and especially statistical, techniques to the answering of those questions. He asks whether and how science progresses; whether a scientist's biography is important in understanding his science; what characteristics of a scientist are most complementary to success in science; and how the professionalization of science redirects the attention of scientists more toward internal puzzle-solving, and less toward applied relevance.     

The evolution of service innovation research: a critical review and synthesis

The number of service innovation articles has increased dramatically in the past 25 years. By reviewing 128 articles published between 1986 and 2010, primarily in leading marketing and innovation journals, this study analyzes the progression of service innovation research according to topicality and perspective. The authors summarize prior research by clustering it into three evolutional phases and drawing parallels with the evolution of the wider services marketing field. Overall, the view of service innovation has evolved, from a complement of traditional product innovation to a multidimensional, all-encompassing notion that entails several functions, both within and outside the firm.     

WTO争端解决机制专家组职权范围实证研究

本文围绕WTO争端解决机制专家组管辖范围这一主题,就WTO专家组或上诉机构所适用和发展的相关规则进行实证分析。通过对大量关于DSB专家组程序相关案例的相似点和不同点进行比较,总结专家组在各类案件中针对相关规定理解和运用的不同标准,目的在于对成立专家组的请求的条件（主要体现在DSU第6.2条中）进行研究。之后通过对中国作为申诉方参与WTO争端解决活动的实践经验,分析中国的诉请因是否符合DSU第6.2条而成功或不成功的原因,进而较为准确地把握专家组对于申请列入其管辖范围的标准,在此基础上提出笔者关于中国参与WTO争端解决活动应该注意的问题的建议。     

Productivity and impact in advertising research since the millennium: a profiling and investigation of drivers of impact

What does it take to become a top advertising scholar in productivity? What drives impact in advertising research? This article sets out to answer these two questions by assessing the productivity and impact among scholars and their work in advertising since the millennium. As a two-part study, we begin by benchmarking and profiling the top 1% scholars in the field based on their research publications in the three top advertising journals (Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, and International Journal of Advertising). Next, we employ a three-perspective conceptual model to identify the salient drivers of impact in advertising research. By content analyzing 1443 articles in the three journals published between 2000 and 2014, we show that certain universalistic and particularistic factors (to a lesser extent) significantly predict paper citations. Our findings reveal how advertising academia is advancing and showing signs of internationalization in the new millennium, which provides implications for the field's advancement and scholarship.     

A Ranking of Journals in Economics and Related Fields

Abstract. This paper presents an update of the ranking of economics journals by the invariant method, as introduced by Palacio‐Huerta and Volij, with a broader sample of journals. By comparison with the two other most prominent rankings, it also proposes a list of ‘target journals’, ranked according to their quality, as a standard for the field of economics.     

语篇认知语境对文学中新隐喻理解的影响

文学中的新隐喻具有新颖、晦涩的特点,它不同于日常对话中使用的隐喻,需要付出更多的努力才能理解,同时对它的理解更加依赖语境。这种语境与以往交际中的认知语境不同的是,文学中的新隐喻所依赖的语篇认知语境具有宏观性和连贯性。因此,从关联和语用推理角度出发,探讨语篇认知语境是如何影响文学中新隐喻的理解具有重要的意义。     

网络环境下纸质科技期刊生存危机与思考

电子期刊的问世为传统的纸质科技期刊带来了严峻的挑战。当前,电子期刊正快速抢夺读者,尤其是年轻读者,削减了纸质科技期刊原有的市场份额,而且原材料价格不断上涨,纸质科技期刊正面临着前所未有的生存危机。如何化解困境,这是每一位从事纸质科技期刊出版工作的业者无法回避的问题,笔者就此提出了自己的看法。
