This paper discusses issues relating to the use of the Association of Business Schools' (ABS) Academic Journal Quality Guide within UK business schools. It also looks at several specific issues raised by the Chair of the British Accounting Association/British Accounting and Finance Association regarding the ratings for top international journals, and for accounting education and accounting history journals. 《财经研究》60年的命运和发展与中国的经济、高等教育、经济学和经济学期刊的发展息息相关。文章基于1956-2015年《财经研究》和其他经济学核心期刊的历史数据,从发文数量、被引频次、发文学科、发文栏目、发文区域、发文机构、发文作者和发文关键词等方面进行了横向与纵向的比较分析,研究发现:中国主要经济学期刊在发文学科、栏目选择和研究主题偏好上存在趋同现象,但各个期刊又都有自身的特色,形成了错位互补的发展态势,《财经研究》的强项是财务与会计、综合和金融等三个栏目,特色是财政分权、制度变迁、对外直接投资和中小企业等方面的研究;中国经济学期刊发展中存在的主要问题是国际化程度不高;中国经济学期刊充分体现了中国经济发展的重大历史命题和阶段性特征,新中国成立以来的众多重大社会经济变革问题都能在期刊中找到理论阐述和政策建议。总之,中国的经济学期刊不仅见证了中国60年的社会变迁和经济发展,而且也为建立中国特色的经济学话语体系做出了贡献。 相似文献

We introduce a branch‐and‐cut algorithm to aggregate published journal rankings based on subsets of the accounting literature in order to create a consensus ranking. The aggregate ranking allows specialist and regional journals, which may only be ranked in a limited number of studies, to be placed with respect to each other and with respect to the generalist journals that are usually included in ranking studies. The approach we develop is a significant advance over ad hoc approaches to aggregating journal rankings that have appeared in the literature and may provide a theoretically sound and replicable basis for further exploration of the concept of journal quality and the stability of journal rankings over time and ranking methods. 相似文献

International Journal of Hospitality Management is a leading journal in ‘Hospitality, Tourism and Management’ field. The journal celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2016. The aim of this paper is to provide a complete lifetime overview of the academic structure of the journal using bibliometric indicators since its inception and until the last year completed. This analysis includes key factors such as the most cited articles, leading authors, originating institutions and countries, the publication and citation structures, and the keywords most commonly used. The bibliometric data used to conduct this analysis come from the Scopus database. Additionally, the VOS viewer software is used to create a graphic map of the bibliometric results. The graphical analysis uses co-citation, bibliographic coupling and co-occurrence. Results indicate that IJHM is a leading journal in the areas where it is indexed, with publications from a wide range of authors, institutions, and countries around the world. 相似文献

The study synthesizes research in emerging social media marketing domains by analyzing published articles on social media marketing in the Journal of Promotion Management published since 2007. We utilized interpretation and synthesis based assessment for examining the usage of social media marketing concepts with a focus on social media, social networking sites' utilization by firms, social media metrics and social media measurement, consumer decision making, consumer perceptions, and utilizing social media marketing across countries and cultures. We found a fair balance of application of social media variables across studies, even though most of these studies were quantitative. After studying the gaps presented in social media based studies of recently published articles, we present emerging social media marketing themes, new research foci and directions, and tried to build on research implications for both theory and practice. 相似文献

ABSTRACTThis article presents a bibliometric analysis of the Journal of African Business on its twentieth anniversary. The article focuses on the journal’s intellectual development by objectively examining the evolution of its 20 years of publication, including citations, co-citations, and major researched themes with visualization maps. The findings show that JAB is a young journal in the field of African business. It appears as a collection of articles, keywords, and themes that gathers knowledge. Some of these have well-defined relatedness, while others are loosely clustered together and connected by the simple fact of being published in this journal. This looseness should not be interpreted as a sign of softness but rather as an opportunity for creativity and constructive discourse and as a challenge for the next 20 years of JAB. Unlike univariate and bivariate statistical methods, multivariate statistical methods are capable of analyzing more than one relationship at a time. There are a number of multivariate data analysis methods, each with its own purpose. For nonexperts in statistical analysis, it can be daunting to determine what method is appropriate for a given application. The goal of this commentary is to introduce the multivariate data analysis methods in practical terms that do not require a strong statistical background. The emphasis is describing the purpose of each method, so that readers can choose the methods appropriate for their research questions. ABSTRACTPurpose: To conduct a scientometric analysis of the contents of the Journal of Business-to-Business Marketing from 1993 to 2014. Methodology/approach: The authors use the Leximancer computer-aided text analysis program, which reliably and reproducibly identifies the main concepts embedded in the text—their frequency and patterns of co-occurrence—based on the ways words move together in the text. They also identify key concepts that differentiate among the networks of concepts occurring in each of the first four five-year periods of the Journal’s history.Findings: There are four common underlying conceptual themes: relationships, market, study, and business. But the focal mix of concepts has changed over time, from a narrower initial focus on distribution and power and conflict, to a greater focus on firm business marketing strategy and pedagogy, to a focus on networks, the Internet and more collaborative relations, to a focus, in the most recent period, on psycho-social network concepts, such as trust and commitment.Research implications: The results complement and provide a baseline for evaluating and comparing researcher-conducted literature reviews of business marketing and JBBM’s contributions. The methodology provides possibilities for further analysis as it can be extended to analyze the business marketing and wider marketing literature more generally and how it has evolved.Practical implications: Leximancer provides a comprehensive, accessible summary of the content of the JBBM and demonstrates its value as a text analysis program.Originality/value/contribution: The authors are among the first to use this novel computer text analysis program to conduct a scientometric analyses of journal content.
