跨国公司在华研究与开发投资区位选择的实证研究

本文选取我国吸引跨国公司研究与开发机构最多的前10位省份或直辖市的横截面数据,对跨国公司在华研究与开发投资区位选择的影响因素做实证分析。研究结果表明,跨国公司在华研究与开发机构的区位分布与区域的劳动力成本、通讯设施水平、市场规模、科技实力以及对知识产权的保护和重视程度等因素呈正相关关系。     

Internationalization of US multinational hotel companies: Expansion to Asia versus Europe

Internationalization has been a major expansion strategy for many US corporations including hotel companies. Some researchers argue that internationalization adds value to firms while others hold an opposite perspective. This study examines impacts of general internationalization of US multinational hotel companies (MNHCs) on firm value, estimated by Tobin's Q. Second, the study examines differences between internationalization of US MNHCs in different regions, that is, Asia and Europe. Lastly, the study tests a curvilinear relationship between internationalization and firm value.     

The impact of nonprofit taxes on foreign direct investment: evidence from German multinationals

This paper provides an empirical analysis of the impact of taxes other than profit taxes on both investment and location decisions of multinationals. Besides effects of corporate income taxes, the results confirm significant adverse effects of nonprofit taxes such as property taxes, sales taxes and VAT, and import duties on the level of FDI. However, once country-specific fixed effects are included, most of the effects of nonprofit taxes vanish. This is supported by the analysis of location decisions, where taxes other than corporate income taxes are not found to exert any adverse effects on the location probability in a setting with country-specific fixed effects.      

Public Affairs Management Activities of German Multinational Corporations in India

In this paper the importance of public affairs management in multinational corporations in India will be examined. After briefly discussing the state of the art in international business and society literature, a conceptual framework for public affairs management in multinational corporations will be developed. This framework serves as the theoretical basis for an empirical study among German multinational corporations in India. In the main part of this paper the results of this study will be presented and discussed. The paper ends with a critical assessment and some major implications for future studies.
