中国农村金融体系的资金配置功能分析

按照金融功能观,资金配置是金融体系最重要的功能.中国农村金融体系未能有效地发挥资金配置功能,是因为过去的农村金融改革主要遵循金融机构观.金融机构观使得农村金融体系不能适应外部环境,从而也就不能满足农村经济发展的需要.     

对我国农村金融体制变革滞后问题的若干思考

我国农村金融体制的变革大幅度滞后于农村经济体制的变革,是一个时期以来社会经济体制当中各种矛盾相互交织而造成的必然结果,这一格局严重制约着农村经济的进一步发展,威胁着农业的国民经济基础地位。因此,当整体经济转型由“增量调整”进入“存量调整”阶段之后,应当均衡布局农村金融的改革与发展。     

The Friday Effect in European Securitized Real Estate Index Returns

This study extends research on the day-of-the-week effect towards European real estate indices. We examine this anomaly for several European securitized real estate index returns between 1990 and 2003. Although the countries under analysis have unique country-specific patterns, we find that eight out of eleven European countries exhibit abnormally high Friday returns. Moreover, two different Europe indices also exhibit the Friday anomaly. The anomaly is robust with respect to extreme observations, alternative specifications and several well-known calendar effects.     

Valuing Mortgage Insurance Contracts in Emerging Market Economies

We develop a new option-based method for the valuation of mortgage insurance contracts in closed form in an economy where agents are risk neutral. While the proposed valuation method is general and can be used in any market, it may be particularly useful in emerging market economies where other existing methods may be either inappropriate or are too difficult to implement because of the lack of relevant data. As an application, we price a typical Serbian government-backed mortgage insurance contract.     

Financial acumen, women speculators, and the Royal African company during the South Sea bubble

Price bubbles provide a unique opportunity to study the financial acumen of shareholders. We focus on the 1720 South Sea episode as experienced by the Royal African Company whose stock was more speculative than other joint stocks. During 1720 the company had a new large stock issue. This paper examines the financial acumen of those women who traded senior and engrafted stock across 1720. We find that depending on the pricing regime, these women at worst broke even on their activities or had positive speculative gains. Our findings are consistent with a growing literature on the positive link between gender, capital gains and financial markets.     

Bargaining Strength and Property Class in Office Markets

This paper examines the influence of bargaining power and property class on the prices of heterogeneous goods. Specifically, it explores the impact of buyer and seller characteristics on the transaction prices of office properties. The empirical model is based on the work of Harding, Rosenthal, and Sirmans (2003), which developed a method to distinguish between the impact of buyer and seller attributes on bargaining power and the choice of otherwise unidentified price effects (i.e., property class) in the context of hedonic price models. The data set contains information on transaction prices of office properties in Cook, DuPage, and Lake Counties, Illinois from 1995 to 1997. The results reveal systematic differences in bargaining power and property class for certain groups of buyers and sellers contained within the sample.

农村信用社产权制度改革:理论、绩效与出路

农村信用社产权制度改革不仅是一个金融问题,而且是一个复杂的社会问题.长期以来我国农村信用社按照合作制进行规范绩效差的主要原因是,农村信用社产权制度改革的国家偏好和农民的接受程度之间存在着巨大的矛盾.文章建议通过稳定农村信用社的经营、拉长农村信用社产权制度改革的周期、完善农村信用社产权制度改革的外部环境、增加农村信用社产权制度改革的途径等四个方面的措施来推动我国农村信用社的产权制度改革.     

发展我国农村社会养老保险制度的几点思考

长期以来,我国城乡养老社会保障呈现了明显的二元化特征.笔者认为,应该从我国家庭户规模的变化、未来人口发展趋势、经济体制改革以及非经济因素等方面来全面考虑发展农村养老社会保险制度的意义、面临的挑战及改革思路.要根据各地经济发展水平不同建立分地区、分层次的农村养老社会保障制度,必须尽快将农村养老社会保障制度建设纳入法制化轨道,并且应推广发达地区的成功经验,继续进行试点工作.
