The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has dramatically affected the aviation industry. This paper investigates how 20 European airlines communicated their crisis messages during the pandemic by employing Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) to airline responses. This qualitative study consisting of a systematic review and content analysis, examined 7237 messages from social media channels and press releases posted between December 1, 2019, and May 25, 2020, when the crisis unfolded worldwide. The results indicate that the airlines primarily emphasized instructing and adjusting crisis communication strategies. Further, Twitter replaced Facebook as the primary communication channel. This study provides insights on how airlines can and should communicate crisis-related messages amidst a severe pandemic. The study concludes with the implications of these findings and recommendations for airline stakeholders moving forward.  相似文献

To counter the growth in online retailing, high street retailers are increasingly adopting multichannel distribution strategies, seeking to target individual consumers via both physical and electronic channels as multiple routes to purchase. In order to develop successful marketing strategies within this environment, however, an understanding of consumer selection between available purchase channels is clearly needed. This paper explores the issue of shopping mode selection from an environmental psychology perspective, applying a traditional Belkian analysis of situational variables in a longitudinal study of consumer channel selection decisions. Preliminary findings from an empirical study of consumers of a leading UK fashion retailer are reported which reveal significant differences in the prevalence of different Belkian variables between shopping modes, suggesting a major role for situational influence during the channel selection process.  相似文献

The objective of this study is to test a mediation model in which safety motivation and self-efficacy mediate the relationship between perfectionism and situational judgment in Chinese civil flying cadets. We collected self-reported data from 218 civil flying cadets from Civil Aviation Flight University of China. The results show that concern over mistakes and personal standards have direct effects on flying cadets' situational judgment. Concern over mistakes, parental expectation and organization have indirect effects on flying cadets’ situational judgment through safety motivation; whereas concern over mistakes and parental criticism have indirect effects through self-efficacy. Managerial implications of the study as well as the future research directions are discussed.  相似文献

This study investigates the influence of personal antecedents and achievements (i.e. intrinsic attributes, personal character, strategic positioning and academic achievements) on lodging management knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) and success. The findings reveal that correlations between intrinsic attributes, personal character and strategic positioning, and KSAs are generally stronger than the correlations found between academic achievements and KSAs. Knowledge in financial management and other situational influencers was determined to contribute most to managers’ career success. Also strategic positioning was identified as a moderating variable between KSAs and monetary success.  相似文献

高层管理团队(Top management team.TMT)作为团队的一种特殊形式,因为其有效性对企业的生存发展起到至关重要的作用.所以近年来受到国内外学者的广泛关注。但是。在过去的文献研究中,我们不难发现,学者较多研究的是TMT在人口特征(年龄,教育背景等)的异质性同不同企业绩效指标之间的关系。但是不同学者的研究结果却往往相互矛盾。为了解释不同研究结果的差异,我们结合权变理论,提出了一个动态模型,来更好地分析TMT的有效性。  相似文献
