Vertical Restraints and Market Access

This paper analyzes vertical restraints in relation to market access issues. In Section II we briefly review the recent three major trade conflicts between Japan and the USA in light of vertical restraints. In Section III we review the major policy lessons of the economics literature of vertical restraints, and analyze whether we need a special treatment for vertical restraints abroad for a market access reason. In Section IV we evaluate the policy options towards foreign foreclosure and suggest that nondiscriminatory application of foreign or home competition policy should be the mechanism to address such concern instead of trade policy actions such as voluntary import expansions.

《航运法》出台在即,航运市场准入制度是航运法体系的重要组成部分。航运经济是市场经济,允许何种航运企业以及其他相关参与者进入航运市场首先要由市场来选择。当市场失灵时,政府便要制定一系列的政策进行宏观调控,立法是国家制定社会政策的主要方式之一。法律既是行使国家职能的主要依据,也是抑制公共失灵或政府失灵的主要措施。因此,构建科学、合理的航运市场准入制度,应当按照"市场选择—政策—调整—法律约束"这条理论脉络,综合经济学、社会学和法学理论等学科,从一个跨学科、多领域的视角来分析航运市场准入理论框架。     

The effect of individual HR domains on financial performance: evidence from Belgian small businesses

The contribution of this study, which assesses the influence of HRM on financial performance, is fourfold. (1) We assess the relative contribution of different HR domains to organizational performance. By controlling for the overall HRM intensity in all analyses we try to meet one of the most striking shortcomings of ‘single HR practice research’, namely the neglect of the potential simultaneity that might exist with other HR practices. (2) By studying small Belgian companies, we focus on the importance of HRM for small business management. (3) Relying on bankruptcy prediction models, we optimize the conceptualization of financial performance. (4) Using structural equation modelling, we try to capture the mediating effect of operational performance on the relationship between HRM and financial performance. The analyses indicate mixed results for different HR domains with regard to their impact on operational and financial performance.

Understanding the role of situational factors on online grocery shopping among older adults

This paper seeks to identify the situational factors that drive the adoption of online grocery shopping among older adults. A two-step research process is employed. First, exploratory qualitative research is carried out to identify situational factors that older adults take into account when deciding whether to buy groceries online. This is followed by a conjoint experiment to determine which situational factors are considered most important when making such a decision. The sample consisted of 9 participants in the in-depth individual interviews and 206 respondents in the conjoint experiment. The findings indicate that health, mobility issues, and distance to a store are the most important situational factors driving older adults to buy groceries online. Moreover, the findings confirm that the adoption of online grocery shopping among older adults is a result of a complex trade-off of situational variables. The findings contribute to managerial practice by providing online grocery retailers with insight that can be applied when designing promotional programs targeted at older adults.

本文首先对我国互联网接入产业的技术经济特征进行了剖析,指出了该产业发展状况和政府监管现状,接着分析了产业监管中面临的主要问题,最后为政府监管部门制定相关产业政策提供建议。     

Embedding effects in choice experiment valuations of environmental preservation projects

This paper addresses the question, whether attribute values derived from a CE study of one nature restoration and preservation project depend on the overall scale of nature preservation activities in which it is embedded. A split-sample CE study was undertaken in which a particular nature preservation project was evaluated in three plausible and strictly different embedding contexts. Respondents' attention was drawn to a varying number of forthcoming substitute preservation projects to be implemented prior to the one in question. Results show that while WTP for the project in focus is sensitive to the presentation of substitute projects as such, there does not seem to be any clear and unidirectional relationship between WTP and the number of substitute projects. Furthermore, effects vary across the project's attributes.

基于SC-FDMA的认知无线电网络的研究

物理层数据传输方案的选择是认知无线电（CR）技术能在实际中广泛应用的重要基础。给出了将SC—FDMA（单载波频分多址）技术应用于CR网络中的传输方案,并与传统的NC—OFDM（非连续的OFDM）技术进行分析比较。仿真结果和相应分析表明：在CR网络中,总体而言SC—FDMA的性能比NC—OFDM更为优良,特别是在严重的频率选择性衰落环境中,或者是当认知用户的可用频谱资源（子载波）比较稀少时,SC—FDMA的性能优势更加明显。因此SC—FDMA是一种很有前景的技术,在不久的将来有希望取代NC—OFDM,成为CR网络的物理层传输方案。
