Fingerprint‐Based Recognition

Biometric recognition, or biometrics, refers to the authentication of an individual on the basis of her or his biometric traits. Among the various biometric traits (e.g., face, iris, fingerprint, and voice), fingerprint‐based authentication has the longest history and has been successfully adopted in both forensic and civilian applications. Advances in fingerprint capture technology have resulted in new large‐scale civilian applications (e.g., US Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology program). However, these systems still encounter difficulties due to various noise factors present in operating environments. There is also a general lack of scientific development in forensic methods, including fingerprint‐based methods, in terms of identifying, incorporating, and quantifying sources of variability in the decision‐making process. The purpose of this article is to give an overview of current practice in fingerprint‐based recognition, its challenges, and areas of future research.     

Host–guest authentication of intangible cultural heritage: a literature review and conceptual model

ABSTRACT

Cultural tourism and intangible cultural heritage (ICH) play a key role in tourism worldwide, and are especially important for communities in developing countries, due to the demand for authentic experiences. This article provides a review of existing literature on the authenticity and authentication of ICH. The review reveals scholarly inquiry has evolved from external-expert ‘cool’ authentication to direct host–guest on-site or ‘hot’ authentication whereby tourists participate in the process of determining authenticity. Further, existing models for authentication of ICH have focused only on either a guest’s or host’s perspectives with little attention to the inevitable mutual interaction of the host and guest in the authentication of ICH. Mutual authentication can enhance the tourist experience and improve community empowerment. This paper develops a conceptual model of the mutual (host–guest) authentication of ICH, incorporating both hosts’ and tourists’ perspectives. The model has application in ICH based tourism and emphasizes power relationships between the host and guest, and community empowerment across political, social, psychological and economic domains. Future research is needed to test and validate this conceptual model.     

利用企业认证课程进行电子商务实训的探讨

高校电子商务专业实训问题一直是困扰教学的瓶颈,在教学中引入企业认证的内容,既可以解决院校硬件资源、师资队伍中的困难,又可以使学生真正接触企业现行的电子商务运营模式和经营流程,极大的提高学生的学习兴趣与专业的可持续发展,实现理论与实践的无缝对接。本文在阐述认证课程引入课堂教学所提供的价值的基础上,全面介绍了将阿里巴巴认证引入电子商务教学实践的过程,并提出了值得思考和改进之处。

Authenticating a heritage hotel: co-creating a new identity

This study attempts to broaden understandings of co-creation by examining stakeholders who authenticate the meaning of a heritage hotel. It proposes that a heritage hotel is not only defined in terms of the provenance of material and non-material aspects of a culture, but also by subjective criteria as applied by various stakeholders. Using the case study of the Hotel Estoril, the first Western-style casino hotel built in the former Portuguese colony of Macau, it shows that government, community organizations, and residents endeavor to co-create a new identity for adaptive reuse. Under the circumstances, a heritage hotel is characterized by a polyvocality of interpretations, reflective of the array of stakeholders involved.

基于ASP·NET的单点登录系统的研究与实现

针对传统单点登录系统存在的兼容性和安全性差、无授权机制以及缺乏用户个性化服务等缺点,利用Form s身份认证机制和共享认证模式解决域内和跨域认证问题,使用URL授权机制完成访问控制和授权功能,运用.NET框架下的安全服务保证交互过程的安全性,结合个性化服务功能提高用户体验,设计并实现了一种基于ASP.NET的单点登录系统.
