Integrating Agronomic Principles into Production Function Specification: A Dichotomy of Growth Inputs and Facilitating Inputs

This article presents a general conceptual framework for integrating agronomic principles into economic production analysis. We categorize inputs in crop production into growth inputs and facilitating inputs. Based on this dichotomy we specify an asymmetric production function. The robustness of the asymmetric framework is tested using crop-level panel data on potato production in the Netherlands. The test results do not reject the proposed framework, and the asymmetric specification better represents the underlying production technology.

文章分析了传统的地勘统计分析方法统计指标体系相对简单、所揭示的关系较为单纯的局限性 ,提出了在地勘统计中运用综合的多指标分析方法的观点 ,并就工效系数法的应用进行了论述。     

Sources of productivity growth on Finnish dairy farms—application of an input distance function

The objective is to examine sources of productivity change on Finnish dairy farms in the 1990s. The decomposition of productivity change into technical and technical efficiency change is widely recognized but it neglects the scale effect. Generalized decompositions incorporating all three components are calculated for a sample of Finnish dairy farms from 1989-2000. This period is of interest because of the drastic change in agricultural policy when Finland joined the European Union (EU) in 1995. The results indicate that productivity growth was on average low, approximately 0.15% per year. Neutral technical change was identified as the most important source of productivity growth (1.1%). Technical efficiency decreased by almost 0.5% annually. The contribution of the scale effect in productivity change increased towards the end of study period.     

基于消费者行为理论的森林食品产业发展潜力分析

文章运用经济学的消费行为理论,从消费者对森林食品的偏好分析入手,分析了森林食品具有二元价值结构的特征,推出大多数的消费者对森林食品具有超满足性消费偏好的特性,其效用函数有非1正实根。在此基础上,结合我国森林食品产业发展的特征,导出森林食品产业的需求模型。以期为森林食品产业组织的完善及竞争力的提升提供市场需求的理论分析依据。     

《土地开发整理项目估算标准》应用前景初探

土地开发整理工作的深入开展对于土地开发整理项目管理的要求逐步提高。为完善土地开发整理项目工程造价管理体系,提高土地开发整理项目估算编制的科学性,促进项目可研编制规范化水平的提高,《土地开发整理项目估算标准》课题经过国土资源部土地整理中心两年来的研究,于2006年底通过了成果验收。其主要研究成果在土地开发整理项目管理中必将发挥重要作用,具有广阔的应用前景。文章从财政专项资金预算管理和土地开发整理项目前期管理等方面多角度的对此作出了初步探讨。     

河流洪泛湿地的功能特征及综合开发利用--以向海湿地为例

以向海湿地为例，分析了典型的河流洪泛湿地的功能特征，即蓄洪防旱，调节径流，控制洪水，净化过滤污染物，为珍稀生物提供栖息地以及巨大的初级生产功能等。为综合开发利用河流洪泛湿地资源，提出了先获取湿地要素指标，建立评价指标体系，再做好综合开发示范，调整，恢复和保护生态系统。     

Technology, Labor Wars, and Producer Dynamics: Explaining Consolidation in Beefpacking

Beefpacking underwent a dramatic transformation in the 1970s and 1980s, as plants got much larger and industry concentration rose dramatically. We use individual Census Bureau plant records to analyze the sources of the transformation. We find that there were modest but extensive scale economies in packing plants, covering the full range of plant sizes, and that such economies became more important throughout the period of the study. As production shifted to larger plants, we estimate that the industry's aggregate processing costs fell by 35.3% by 2002, compared to what they would have been without consolidation.
