Team production,endogenous learning about abilities and career concerns

This paper studies career concerns in teams where the support a worker receives depends on fellow team members׳ efforts and abilities. In this setting, by exerting effort and providing support, a worker can influence her own and her teammates׳ project outputs in order to bias the learning process in her favor. To manipulate the market׳s assessment, we argue that in equilibrium, a worker has incentives to help or even sabotage her colleagues in order to signal that she is of higher ability. In a multiperiod stationary framework, we show that the stationary level of work effort is above and help effort is below their efficient levels.     

欧元区主权债务危机探析

为全面了解欧元区成员国的财政运转状况,以1999年欧元区成立为界将欧元区财政状况划分两个阶段:在欧元启动之初,部分欧盟国家在经济指标尚不满足加入欧元区的现实下,隐瞒其真实负债水平,为日后欧元区主权债务危机的爆发埋下了隐患;加入欧元区后,各成员国为了刺激经济增长实施扩张性的财政政策使得赤字率和债务率相继超标,对加入欧元区的最初承诺已形同虚设.在债务危机急剧恶化的背景下,德、法等欧元区核心国实施的全方位救助程序短期内对遏止主权债务危机蔓延和维护欧元区稳定起到了决定性作用.     

基于语料库的英语搭配错误研究及启示

基于语料库的英语搭配错误研究显示,中国英语学习者由于母语的干扰、对搭配的过度概括、不了解搭配的限制、不能准确理解词义等,往往会选择不恰当或者错误的搭配。英汉搭配词典应设立帮助箱为中国英语学习者提供帮助。     

体育教学中的三个帮助

教育与教学的改革目的就是让学生能对其所学的课程有一个正确的认识（意义及作用）,产生必学的态度,迭到完整的掌握。这是学校各课程教学必须做到的标准模式。学校体育教学尽管有其特殊性,也不能偏离这种模式。学校体育教学的目的是增强学生体质,提高学生身体素质和运动能力,让学生健康成长并成为社会合格有用的人才。针对当今学生娇生惯养,怕苦怕累等不利于身心发展的不良习惯,体育教师甚感不安和头痛。如何利用体育课的教学过程解决好这个难题。本人认为教师在教学过程中应该做好三个“帮助”。

在线帮助是数据库管理系统的重要组成部分。本文以 Foxpro2.0为基础讨论了面向应用的在线帮助子系统的几种设计方法。     

论非政府组织与社会弱势群体

本文认为,大规模的弱势群体已经影响到我国社会经济生活的方方面面,必须采取积极措施,动员各种社会力量加大对弱势群体的救助,特别是要发挥非政府组织的基本职能,协助政府解决弱势群体问题.第一,加大对非政府组织的资金支持.由政府确定每年从政府预算、财政专项基金或福彩资金中拿出一部分,作为非政府组织服务弱势群体的专项资金.第二,出台非政府组织捐赠免税政策.第三,成立相应机构,协调非政府组织的各种资源,规范管理,加强和完善民间组织的职能.第四,放宽非政府组织登记制度,使有心致力于爱心公益事业者有一个好的平台,规范捐赠行为,使民间善款真正用于服务对象.第五,加强国内外非政府组织的合作与交流,加大媒体对非政府组织帮助弱势群体、解决社会问题的宣传力度,扩大其在全国的影响力.

贫困生作为当前高校中存在的一个特殊群体,已经引起了多方关注。本文从高校贫困生现状入手,分析了贫困生的成因和特点,并针对贫困生中存在的突出问题提出了自己的建议。     

HOW TO OVERCOME SHAREHOLDER APATHY IN CORPORATE GOVERNANCE – THE ROLE OF INVESTOR ASSOCIATIONS IN GERMANY

ABSTRACT: Investor apathy by private retail investors and highly diversified institutional investors is often blamed for poor managerial accountability and control of majority investors. Attempts to encourage shareholder activism tend to focus on large institutional investors and ignore retail investors. However, in Germany associations of private retail investors play an increasingly important role in organizing collective shareholder action and defining minority shareholder interests. The German example highlights a possible alternative to the US and UK model of shareholder activism, which is dominated by institutional investors.     

Cross‐cultural differences on work‐to‐family conflict and role satisfaction: A Taiwanese‐British comparison

The aim of this research was to explore relations between work and family demands and resources, work‐to‐family conflict (WFC), and work and family outcomes in a cross‐cultural comparative context involving Taiwanese and British employees. Two‐hundred and sixty‐four Taiwanese employees and 137 British employees were surveyed using structured questionnaires. For both Taiwanese and British employees, work and family demands were positively related to WFC, whereas work resources were negatively related to WFC. Furthermore, WFC was negatively related to family satisfaction. More importantly, we found that nation moderated relationships between work resources and WFC, WFC and work, and family satisfaction. Specifically, work resources had a stronger protective effect for Taiwanese than British in reducing WFC, whereas WFC had a stronger detrimental effect on role satisfaction for British than Taiwanese. It is recommended that both culture‐general and culture‐specific effects should be taken into consideration in designing future WFC research and familyfriendly managerial practices. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
