An upper bound for the correlation ratio of records

We obtain an upper bound for a measure of the performance of the least squares predictor of the jth record of a sequence of continuous i.i.d random variables as a function of the ith record. We show also that such bound is attainable, except for location and scale parameters, by exponential distributions. A review of recent developments in international portfolio selection

This review begins with a foundation for inspection of the potential gains from international diversification by citing the results of the seminal works in the area. From that point, the review examines recent ex-post studies, adaptation to currency risk, consideration of bond investment, the development of ex-ante strategies, and the consideration of market imperfections. The prevailing impression from this review is that international investment can potentially provide superior performance to solely domestic investment. However, it is a matter of developing the correct strategy to exploit the opportunities.     

Saving,investment, and capital mobility: A comment on Leachman

In this note we use a consistent long-run data set recently published by Maddison (1991) for 10 countries to examine the long-run relationship between saving and investment. In contrast to recent findings of Leachman (1991) we conclude that saving and investment are cointegrated in many countries. Our results suggest that aggregate demand and supply shocks explain much of the time series correlation between total saving and investment.     

The search for evidence of chaos in FTSE-100 daily returns

This study provides an elementary discussion of deterministic chaos as it applies to security returns. the study demonstrates a simple technique, well known in the physical sciences, for discriminating between random and chaotic time-series. Applying the technique to a time-series of daily returns on the FTSE-100, an index comprised of the stocks of the 100 largest British firms, results in evidence that the time-series is random, not chaotic.

中国非公有制企业劳资关系与企业绩效的关联性分析

劳资关系与企业绩效的关联性问题,理论上的争议由来已久。但大多数国外学者的实证研究显示,劳资关系状况的改善对企业绩效具有积极的正面影响。在中国的非公有制企业中,通过对劳资关系和企业绩效分层聚类结果的对比分析,可以发现,劳资关系和企业绩效的各个层次上,类成员分布具有明显的一致性特征,表明劳资关系与企业绩效在区域上存在一定程度的关联关系:劳资关系状况较"优"的地区,往往伴随着较高水平的企业绩效,劳资关系状况较"差"的地区,企业绩效水平也较"低"。     

商业银行操作风险与内部控制相关性研究

依据商业银行操作风险基本理论，通过设立假设条件，对哈尔滨市x、Y两家商业银行机构近三年操作风险事件情况进行调查研究，从中得到的启示和结论是，商业银行内部控制与操作风险高度呈正相关；操作风险事件中的绝大多数能够从内控薄弱中寻到根据；抓住操作风险管理的“牛鼻子”是加强内部控制建设的关键，加强内部控制在操作风险管理进程中永无止境。     

基于聚类和最优尺度分析的户外拓展运动的安全风险研究

户外拓展运动是一种需要进行风险管理的活动形式。文章基于户外拓展学员的认知,对拓展活动的安全风险引致因素和安全风险表现类型进行问卷调查,并对风险引致因素类型和风险表现类型进行聚类分析。研究引入最优尺度分析中的非线性典型相关分析方法,对个体因素与拓展安全风险间的相关关系进行统计识别。研究发现,拓展安全风险引致因素和拓展安全风险表现类型均具有聚类特征,并与拓展参与者的个性特征变量具有非线性相关关系。     

云南烟草业发展与地方经济增长的相关性分析

烟草业是云南经济发展的重要支柱产业,对云南经济发展具有重要的影响。文章选取1989—2010年的相关年度数据进行分析,分析结果表明,云南烟草业与地方经济增长具有显著的相关关系,并提出了推进现代物流建设、实施多元化经营战略、实施产业化经营等促进云南烟草业发展的应对措施。
