Interest rate corridors and reserves

This paper evaluates reserves regimes versus interest rate corridors, which have become competing frameworks for monetary policy implementation. Rate corridors, relying on lending and deposit facilities to create ceilings and floors for overnight interest rates, evince mixed results on controlling volatility. Reserve requirements allow period-average smoothing of interest rates but, even if remunerated, are subject to reserve avoidance activities. A system of voluntary, period-average reserve commitments could offer equivalent rate-smoothing advantages. If central banks created symmetric opportunity costs of meeting or falling short of period-average reserve requirements (or commitments), they could achieve flat reserve demand on settlement day.

Intra-Industry Reactions to Stock Split Announcements

We examine whether favorable information conveyed by stock split announcements transfers to nonsplitting firms within the same industry. On average, nonsplitting firms' shareholders experience positive and significant abnormal returns at the stock split announcements of their industry counterparts. In addition, industrywide and firm-specific characteristics are important determinants in explaining nonsplitting firms' stock returns. These firms' earnings increase significantly, and the earnings changes are positively related to the stock price reactions. Finally, we find no evidence that investors revise the value of nonsplitting firms because they anticipate a decline in earnings volatility.     

Orange County Bankruptcy: Financial Contagion in the Municipal Bond and Bank Equity Markets

We examine the spillover wealth effects of the Orange County, California bankruptcy announcement in December 1994 on municipal bonds, municipal bond funds, and bank stocks. This bankruptcy is prominent because of unprecedented losses and because it was caused by a highly leveraged derivatives strategy rather than a shortage of tax revenues and excess spending. We find contagion in the bond market with significantly negative abnormal returns for municipal bond funds without direct exposure to Orange County and for non‐Orange County municipal bonds. In addition, our findings suggest the contagion spills over to the common stocks of investment and commercial banks that deal in or use derivatives; however, the equities of banks unexposed to derivatives are not affected.

随着中国经济的发展，提供第三方物流服务的物流公司纷纷涌现出来。同时，与第三方物流相关的一些问题也随之出现．针对这种情况．我们建立了第三方物流经济模型，从供需层面来分析中国第三方物流中存在的问题．找出问题存在的根本原因，并且对物流企业的建设提出一些建议和解决方案。     

Product attributes and models of multiple discreteness

Demand for product characteristics is examined within the context of models that allow for both corner and interior solutions corresponding to zero and non-zero demand. Product attribute information is associated with marginal utility and curvature (satiation) parameters of various utility functions. Empirical applications demonstrate the need for incorporating characteristics in a fairly general way. We also compare our approach to an ideal point and pure Lancasterian versions of our nonlinear utility model. The data support our model over either the ideal point or Lancasterian variants.     

军用集装箱三维装载的优化方法

以军用集装箱装载为研究对象，在考虑实际应用中的一些约束条件下，构造了军用集装箱的装载优化模型，提出了一种军用集装箱三维装载的启发式算法。该算法采用了整体装填、空间合并等策略，考虑了装载方向、优先顺序、重心等约束条件。最后对一个案例进行了计算与分析，验证了该模型的有效性，并且利用3ds max得到了装载方案的三维图。     

第三方物流企业提高运作效率的必要性分析

近年来,随着社会分工的细化,众多制造企业将非核心的物流业务外包,这极大地促进了第三方物流的发展,但同时也应当看到,其合作之中仍然存在着竞争,要想提高第三方物流企业的竞争力,必须首先提高其物流系统的运作效率。文章以石化销售企业的运作实际为背景,应用博弈理论分析比较了两种不同购销渠道的特点,最终指出第三方物流企业运作效率与其竞争能力之间的关系。     

4D技术在工程项目管理中的应用和发展趋势

现代建设工程日趋复杂，传统的工程项目管理思想和手段已经无法满足项目业主越来越高的要求，进度、成本和质量管理彼此独立的传统模式导致许多弊端，主要表现在各专业生成的软件信息不能共享、项目参与各方所拥有的知识和经验不能很好地提供项目决策支持。随着管理思想、管理理论、IT技术的飞速发展，运用产品数据建模、软件集成(3D 成本／进度)的思想和方法，对传统管理工具进行变革成为可能。本文引进工程项目集成化管理思想，分析国内外4D技术研究的情况，提出4D建模技术辅助工程项目管理的发展方向和趋势。
