We examine the impact of diversification on performance for firms operating in different institutional environments during a relatively stable period and during a major economy‐wide shock. We locate our study in six Asian countries at different levels of institutional development. Results indicate that diversification negatively impacts performance in more developed institutional environments while improving performance only in the least developed environments. Even in the least developed institutional environments, diversification offers limited benefits when an economy‐wide shock strikes. Though successful diversifiers are sometimes affiliated with business groups, diversification is associated with poorer performance for both affiliated firms and independent firms. In sum, we find that the outcomes of diversification are influenced by institutional environments, economic stability and affiliation with business groups. 本文研究了上市公司信息披露状况与分析师预测行为之间的关系,结果发现,分析师的预测准确性总体上显著优于随机游走模型。进一步的研究发现,上市公司信息披露状况会对证券分析师的预测特征产生影响,信息披露透明度越高,分析师预测对会计盈利数据的依赖程度越低,预测准确性也随之提高。 相似文献

The literature on service quality and customer loyalty has long focused on enhancing the work of service providers. This study examined “the other side of the coin” in service co-production or value co-creation in service encounters by investigating how service providers might take a proactive approach to building relationships based on mandatory customer participation (MCP). The research evaluated how such antecedents as role clarity, self-efficacy, purchase importance, and servicescape could influence MCP. Path analysis revealed that these four factors significantly influenced different dimensions of MCP; which in turn had a significant impact on customer loyalty. Using these insights, managers could develop a strategic approach to managing customer roles in the service delivery process. This study adds to the body of knowledge on service quality by demonstrating empirically the determinants and structure of MCP and their relationships with customer loyalty in service co-production processes in a hospitality setting. 相似文献

Existing studies of electronic service quality (e-SQ) mainly deal with online shopping mall operators in business-to-consumer (B2C) markets, whereas research into the e-SQ of sellers in industrial electronic marketplaces (e-marketplaces), characterized by multiple sellers and multiple customers, is lacking. Therefore, this study intends to determine if existing theories developed and tested in the B2C online shopping mall context are directly applicable to measure e-SQ of industrial e-marketplace sellers. By qualitatively analyzing customer feedback obtained in an e-marketplace, this study offers an in-depth exploration of e-SQ dimensions, discovers a tentative causal model of the e-SQ specific to industrial e-marketplace sellers, and compares the tentative model grounded in the qualitative data with existing research tested with quantitative data. AbstractThe current study adopts service dominant logic to examine how consumers react to social platforms that communicate corporate sustainability efforts. The results suggest a positive connection between corporate sustainability efforts and evaluation of e-service quality as well as between corporate sustainability efforts and e-WOM. We also find that corporate sustainability efforts encourage consumers to spread positive e-WOM on a platform that provides useful information and that is well-designed.
