The objective of this study was to investigate the relationships between logistics and brand‐related resources, and assess their impact on the retailer's perceptions of customer loyalty to manufacturer brands. On the basis of theoretical underpinnings of the resource‐based view, this study explores the relationships among four main variables: (1) variety of collaborative logistics technologies shared between retailers and manufacturers, (2) manufacturer's logistics operations quality provided to retailers, (3) retailer's brand differentiation orientation, and (4) retailer's perceptions of customers loyalty to manufacturer brands. An online survey was conducted on 313 senior marketing and supply chain managers from retailer firms. The results of the structural equation analysis support a mediated relationship between logistical resources and perceived loyalty to manufacturer brands. The retailers believe that shared logistics technologies enable manufacturers and retailers to offer higher levels of availability and visibility of preferred brands to their end‐user customers. In turn, the end‐users become more confident with their decisions to repurchase the same brand offerings.  相似文献

With the expanding global economy, no managerial position requires a broader set of skills than that of the supply chain manager. Understanding the complexities of filling this vital managerial position, recent conceptual research has called for the development of a tool designed to identify the top candidates for supply chain positions. This research presents a full test of a three hurdle methodology for supply chain manager selection. Empirical results reported here suggest that managers must possess superior general mental aptitude, need for achievement, and adaptability for firms to maximize performance.  相似文献

In this paper the relationships between the distribution of income, technology and employment are analyzed for the industrial sector of Ecuador. The main conclusion is that the effect of a redistribution of income in favour of the lower income groups on employment is positive but of little significance. However, if such redistribution is complemented by a technological policy which promotes the use of more labour intensive techniques where economically feasible, and by orientation of the increased demand for consumption goods, employment in the industrial sector can be increased by around 18 percent. An integrated model of the input-output type is used to analyzed the effects of different policies on the variables mentioned.  相似文献

This research suggests that firms considering a merger and acquisition strategy need to pay attention to the relationship marketing managers of the target firm and the implicit agreements that have kept them with the target firm. The results of this study convey that the joint activity of maintaining the implicit contracts and retaining the relationship marketing managers have a stabilizing and positive impact on the productivity of subordinate marketing employees. These employees are a key success factor that enables the target firm to function effectively after the acquisition.  相似文献

The increasingly popular strategy which postulates that a redistribution of income can automatically produce a higher level of employment and in turn, a better distribution of income, is discussed in this paper with special reference to the industrial sector. On the basis of data from Ecuador, Perú and Venezuela and utilizing a Leontieff type of model disaggregated by technological strata, the author concludes that the redistribution of income does not significantly affect employment in the industrial sector, since the two fundamental assumptions on which the positive results are expected are of doubtful validity. On one hand, the structure of consumption of industrial goods is inelastic to changes in income distribution and on the other, the production of wage goods does not necessarily imply the use of more labour intensive techniques.Given the need to improve the distribution of income, the author maintains that for such redistribution to be used to promote employment creation, special attention should be given to the direction of consumption of those benefited with the redistribution and to the channelling of the additional demand towards those establishments which use more labour intensive techniques.  相似文献

The main purpose of this study is to analyse the changes that have occurred in the employment structure as a result of monetarist economic policies applied in Chile and Argentina throughout the last decade. This analysis is made in the context of trends observed over the last 30 years in both countries. The paper contends that the occupational changes resulting from these monetarist policies do not imply a break with the past, but that the accentuation of the earlier trends is so great that it creates an entirely different economic and social scene. This has far-reaching implications for issues such as, inter alia, deindustrialization and the nature and status of the working class.  相似文献

Despite the increased use of JVs and other forms of alliances, research shows that most collaborative arrangements end in failure due to relationship and resource sharing problems. We note that extant research and practice in this area has tended to emphasize structural and partner selection issues, often at the expense of the relationship and resource development processes which promote ongoing stability and cooperation. This paper presents a view of JV formation and success grounded in the Resource-Advantage (R-A) theory of competition. Our results illustrated the distinct effects of resource complementarity and trust upon JV stability and cooperation. Further, we found that trust was most influential in newer JVs, while the presence of resource complementarity was more critical in older ventures. For firms with greater (less) JV experience, resource complementarity (trust) between the partners was more critical for attaining JV outcomes.  相似文献

Despite efforts at channels theory integration, observers note that this literature lacks a systematic taxonomy of channel systems that reflects the literature's diversity. This study advances a framework that depicts channel structure as being composed of two dimensions: operational integration and joint decision-making. It also illustrates the sociopolitical, economic, and strategic antecedents to channel structure. Using finite mixture regression, differences in various types of manufacturer–retailer channel structure are explored. Based on this analysis, six classes of manufacturer–retailer channel structures are identified.  相似文献
