The present study attempts to build an exploratory model of leadership analysis, based on which the organizational leaders and managers can answer three critical questions for leadership practice: (1) Which are the core decisional values the top management should take into account when adopting critical decisions? (2) Which latent attitudes (constructs or factors) might generate these values in CEOs' and followers' behavior? (3) Do the latent attitudes differ with the respondents' gender, age and educational background? The research belongs to the field of value based leadership theories. The data is collected from a sample of 94 CEOs and 599 direct followers from three complex fields of activity: mining and forestry, manufacturing and construction, respectively, services. The main outcomes are: (1) The most important decisional values should be (in order): customer satisfaction, firm's profitability, product/service quality, sales volume growth and cost control; (2) These values are generated by the following latent attitudes (of CEOs and followers): social responsibility for community and environment; ethical responsibility for minorities and women; market performance responsibility and, respectively, responsibility for employees and customers; (3) Market performance responsibility significantly differs according to respondents gender; social responsibility for community and environment significantly differs with respondents age, while both types of responsibility significantly differ according to respondents educational background. It seems that ethical responsibility for minorities and women and, respectively, responsibility for employees and customers are not influenced by respondents' demographic variables.  相似文献

The Intelligent Business Process Reengineering System (IBPRS) is an interactive expert system. This paper presents a framework for IBPRS which utilizes case-based planning and problem-solving techniques in identifying requirements and problems and in searching for alternative opportunities from previous experiences (cases). IBPRS comprises two major components: Planner and Constructor. The IBPRS Planner's problem solving consists of four stages: problem formulation, case retrieval, case refinement, and evaluation. In generating business process reengineering (BPR) alternatives, IBPRS identifies appropriate case(s) among previous BPR cases that are represented in the form of process model(s) using search algorithms and other rules stored in the Planner's knowledge base. In evaluating the generated BPR alternatives, various simulation models and economic analyses are used. The best BPR alternative is then selected through a multi-attribute criteria decision analysis. In the refinement stage, IBPRS employs case-based substitution method for case adaptation and refinement. The Planner Knowledge Base and the Case Repository are updated as new knowledge develops and new cases are built and entered into the system. The main benefits of IBPRS is to facilitate BPR efforts by identifying problems, evaluating alternatives, and choosing the most appropriate BPR alternative.  相似文献

Grade averaging (by arithmetic mean) is often performed as an attempt to assess overall student performance. In the case of grade comparison originating in non-equivalent scales, rank errors and absurd averaging may result. As averages are sometimes used for candidate selection, the paper dicusses how decisions based on arithmetic mean interpretation may be true, false, or fuzzy, according to different categories of participating candidates. A two stage selection process is analyzed from the perspective of candidate categories. The impact of the choice of asessment scale on the decision-making process is also evaluated and statistical biases are identified. The relevance of using a uniformity criterion is demonstrated.  相似文献

This study analyzes the development level of electronic public services by means of portal <www.e-guvernare.ro>, the single point of access for specific Romanian electronic public services. At the same time, a comparative analysis was conducted having as a purpose an emphasis on the evolution on eGovernement development in Romania within the period of March 2011–August 2012. The results showed lack of commitment of the public administration in Romania in using an entire force offered by the information technology and communication field in supplying public services.  相似文献

The scales used in schools for the purpose of student assessment are ordinal. The average of ordinal values is often used for the evaluation and comparison of overall student performance. We demonstrate a theorem for the selection of scales invariant with respect to rank of average and compare scales according to this property. A uniformity criterion is also defined for the choice of the scale on which to calculate the average. Concatenated sets of grades from scales not belonging to the same category may bring about errors of rank and absurd averaging, which may have a heavy impact on related decision-making processes.  相似文献
