Designing business models in circular economy: A systematic literature review and research agenda

The concept of circular economy is increasingly receiving attention in different domains, including strategic management, operations management, and technology management. It requires companies to design their business model (i.e., the value network, the relationships with the supply chain partners, and the value propositions towards customers) around a new concept of sustainable development that reduces consumption of natural resources and preserves the environment. However, extant research falls short in terms of explaining how companies design their business model according to the circular economy principles. Starting from this premise, the present paper provides a systematic review of the literature on the design of business models in the context of circular economy, aiming to offer an overview of the state of research and outline a promising research agenda.

La classica disuguaglianza che definisce la concavità di una funzione: $$f(\alpha x + \bar \alpha y) \geqq \alpha f(x) + \bar \alpha f(y){\mathbf{ }}\bar \alpha = 1 - \alpha$$ può essere generalizzata in due modi:

1. ammettendo pesi diversi nei due membri;
2. ammettendo medie diverse dall'aritmetica.

In questo lavoro si mostra come queste due estensioni contengano vari tipi di concavità generalizzata proposti in letteratura: quasi concavità, pseudoconcavità, concavità forte, “concavificabilità”. Le due estensioni citate si possono per di più riunire in un'unica che prevede sia pesi eventualmente diversi nei due membri sia medie non necessariamente artimetiche. Presentiamo anche alcune semplici proprietà di queste funzioni concave generalizzate.     

Managing supply chain resilience to pursue business and environmental strategies

Resilience has become a crucial topic in the field of strategic management as it requires companies to design resilient business models to tackle managerial and environmental disruptions of individual firms and supply chains. However, extant research still lacks deep insights into how companies design and manage supply chains according to the resilience principles. With this premise, this paper aims at conducting a state of the art review on supply chain resilience (SCR) considering 125 relevant papers collected from Scopus and Web of Science academic search engine. Starting from the results of the literature review, this study proposes a systemic framework of SCR assessment and contributes to improve the understanding of the impact of different empirically tested constructs on the development of the resilience concept. Further, the findings are summarized in several areas including barriers in developing resilience, metrics to measure the resilience performance, and effective strategies to foster the SCR. Finally, this study outlines promising future research directions for scholars and practitioners.     

The Agency Structure of Loan Syndicates

Leaders of loan syndicates often delegate some administrative tasks to banks known as co‐agents. One reason is that co‐agents are specialized banks that help split the costs of managing the syndicate. Another reason is that co‐agents monitor the leader on behalf of syndicate members to mitigate informational asymmetry problems. Large sample tests on the Dealscan database provide support for both arguments. Evidence of repeated contracting between the same banks explains the moderate magnitude of monitoring effects.     

Esistenza Di Un Equilibrio Concorrenziale Per La Teoria Generale Della Domanda Di Spazio E Della Rendita

Si dimostra l’esistenza di un equilibrio concorrenziale in un’economia in cui si tien conto esplicitamente della locazione dello scambio dei beni e si introducono domanda e offerta di spazio. A tale scopo si stabiliscono proprietà di continuità degli estremi per problemi in cui compaiono come incognite funzioni di punto ed insiemi. Nella prima parte si sviluppa una teoria matematica che viene applicata nell’esempio economico trattato nella seconda parte.

Si pongono in relazione ottimi paretiani di problemi vettoriali con coppie di sottoproblemi reciproci e se ne caratterizza l'efficienza propria anche rispetto ad alcune relazioni d'ordine interessanti per le applicazioni economiche e finanziarie.

Summary Reciprocity properties are studied in order to recognize, within a Pareto optimization problem, the different role of the criteria as objectives and constraints.Proper efficiency is stated for pairs of reciprocal problems and Pareto optimality is stated for particular order relations, relevant for economic and financial applications.

Managing customer knowledge through the use of big data analytics in tourism research

The use of big data is growing in relevance and importance in tourism management research. Companies operating in this industry are exploiting big data analytics and developing systems to manage customer knowledge and provide the best service in the right place at the right time. This paper aims to provide a systematic literature review to present issues associated with the use of big data in tourism and identify future research directions on the topic. To achieve this aim, this paper develops a citation network analysis methodology to drive the content analysis and explore the content of 109 selected papers. The findings of this review highlight that although there is an increasing number of contributions on the topic, there are yet some issues that require to be further developed. In particular, the paper identifies research gaps and consequent research questions that represent an agenda for both researchers and practitioners.
