Is sin always a sin? The interaction effect of social norms and financial incentives on market participants’ behavior

Using alcohol, tobacco, and gaming consumption data and people’s attitudes toward these sin products to proxy for social norm acceptance levels, we show a strong interaction effect between social norms and financial incentives, which significantly influence the behavior of market participants. Specifically, institutional investors’ shareholdings and analyst coverage of sin companies increase with the degree of social norm acceptance. The association between shareholdings/coverage and social norm acceptance is less pronounced for firms with higher future expected performance. Our results show that social norms and financial incentives have a powerful interaction effect in determining the behavior of market participants, suggesting that social norms can be crossed when motive and opportunity exist.

资源枯竭型城市转型是一项世界难题,也是我国的重大课题.在发展过程中,该类城市普遍陷入经济发展缓慢、居民就业压力大、生态环境恶化、城市基础设施落后的困境.本文以文化分析为视角,从城市精神、制度、价值观等文化层面分析导致资源枯竭型城市发展困境的文化原因,提出以提升城市文化力为宗旨的资源枯竭型城市文化建设的策略.     

基于AHP的电商物流模式决策研究

基于主成分分析法与AHP对自营物流模式、第三方物流模式以及第三方+自营物流的三大模式进行决策研究,首先,对电商物流概念、重要性进行分析,其次,对自营物流模式、第三方物流模式以及第三方+自营物流三大电商模式的概念、优劣势进行分析;再次通过主成分分析法构建物流模式评价指标;最后,通过层次分析法对三大电商物流模式进行决策评价,最终得出自营+第三方物流将成为电商物流发展的主要模式。     

The risk-relevance of securitizations during the recent financial crisis

We investigate changes in the risk-relevance of securitized subprime, other nonconforming, and commercial mortgages for sponsor-originators during the recent financial crisis. Using the volatility of realized stock returns, option-implied volatility, and credit spreads, we observe a pronounced increase in the risk-relevance of subprime securitizations as early as 2006. Furthermore, reflecting the evolution of the financial crisis in waves, we find that investors recognized the increased credit risk of other nonconforming and commercial mortgage securitizations as the financial crisis progressed. Additional analyses show that risk-relevance varies cross-sectionally with structural characteristics such as monoline credit-enhancement and the presence of special servicers for commercial mortgage securitizations. Our results inform the current debates on the opacity of securitization structures and highlight the need to take into account cross-sectional and inter-temporal heterogeneity in risk-relevance across securitized asset classes and securitization characteristics (e.g., quality and type of collateral and transaction structure).     

社区居民旅游影响感知和态度的动态变化

发展旅游业是改善社区经济和居民生活质量的重要途径.当地居民参与旅游开发过程,是实现社区经济、文化、环境可持续发展的基础.文章在长期跟踪研究一个乡村旅游社区——山东省荣成市河口村(“胶东渔村”)的基础上,评估了旅游发展过程中社区居民旅游感知和态度的动态变化趋势.纵向研究结果表明:随着时间的推移,社区居民对旅游发展积极影响的感知一直保持着较高的认同,而对旅游发展消极影响的感知水平明显上升;同时,尽管大多数居民在态度上依然支持旅游业的发展,但是利益分配的冲突、产品老化带来的盈利能力的降低、当地经济发展带来的新的谋利机会、市场竞争的加剧等原因影响了当前居民参与旅游业的热情,导致社区居民“意愿-行为”之间出现较大的差距,需要引起当地管理者的高度关注,并适时调整发展策略.     

Dynamic trend analysis on relational effect of environmental protection industry in China

EPI （environmental protection indastry） and three industries constitute aur national economic structuse. By Grey System Theory and correlation effect analytical method for the first time, this paper analyzes the relatioaship degree between environmental protection industry and the three causes including industries involved in China in both qualitative and quantitotive aspects. Both the innate tale and the realistic reasons nf the relational degree are further analyzed by utilizing sastninoble development theory, circulating economy theol., ecological equilibrium theory, externality theory. industrial structure theory, and ecology prinrity rules. From all the analysts, this paper reveals the relationship between EPI and three industries. In addition, it offers suggestions to the feasibility of adjusting the industrial structure and developing the environmental protection industry in our country.
