We exhibit an empirical Bayes test δ* n for a decision problem using a linear error loss in a class of positive exponential families. This empirical Bayes test δ* n possesses the asymptotic optimality, and its associated regret converges to zero with rate n −1 (ln n )6 This rate of convergence improves the previous results in the literature in the sense that a faster rate of convergence is achieved under much weaker conditions. The paper describes non‐parametric approach for analysis of a three‐period, two‐treatment, four‐sequence crossover design in which test procedure for interchangeability of the treatment effects is obtained. The proposed procedure is based on a non‐parametric model, which incorporates, along with the direct treatment effects and the usual carryover effects, the long‐term carryover effects. Relevant competitors are obtained. Related asymptotic results are given. By performing simulation study, we compared the procedures with respect to type I error rate and power. Furthermore, confidence intervals for treatment differences are studied. The procedures are illustrated with a data study. 相似文献

Process precision index Cp has been widely used in the manufacturing industry to provide numerical measures on process potential. Pearn et al. (1998) considered an unbiased estimator of Cp for one single sample. They showed that the unbiased estimator is the UMVUE. They also proposed an efficient test for Cp based on one single sample, and showed that the test is the UMP test. In this paper, we consider an unbiased estimator of Cp for multiple samples. We show that the unbiased estimator is the UMVUE of Cp, which is asymptotically efficient. We also consider an efficient test for Cp, and show that the test is the UMPtest for multiple samples. The practitioners can use the proposed test on theirin-plant applications to obtain reliable decisions. 相似文献

Abstract An informal discussion is given on performing an unconstrained maximization or solving non-linear equations of statistics by iterative methods with the quadratic termination property. The bootstrap, which provides powerful approximations for many classes of statistics, is studied for simple linear rank statistics
employing bounded and smooth score functions. To verify consistency we view a rank statistic as a statistic induced by a statistical
functional ψ which is evaluated at a pair of dependent signed measures. Thus, we can apply the von Mises method to verify
asymptotic results for the bootstrap. The strong consistency of the bootstrap distribution estimator is derived for the bootstrap
based on resampling from the original data. Further, the residual bootstrap is studied. The accuracy of the bootstrap approximations
for small sample sizes is studied by simulations. The simulations indicate that the bootstrap provides better results than

In general, the construction of optimal designs is apparently a difficult task for the approximation of a random field indexed
by more than one dimension. Besides the rate of convergence of the minimum achievable error hardly anything is known until
now. However, if there is an immanent structure present in the random field, then, taking this structure into account, improved
estimates can be obtained. For this situation we present adequate designs which show, at least, a nearly optimal performance.
