贵州省福泉市仙桥小黄姜营养成分分析

采用国家标准方法对福泉市仙桥乡10处不同土地种植的小黄姜和其他两种生姜的主要营养成分、微量元素进行对比分析.结果表明,福泉市仙桥小黄姜中的主要营养成分和微量元素含量丰富,其中灰分、蛋白质、脂肪、铁、锌、硒的含量明显高于其他两个生姜品种.     

A policy analysis to promote conservation and use of small millet underutilized species in India

Despite the important role of Neglected and Underutilized Species (NUS) in diversifying agriculture, supporting traditional farming systems and improving food and nutritional security particularly in marginal lands, very little attention is being paid to their mainstreaming in national policies and institutions. Based on a detailed review of the regulatory frameworks governing the conservation, sustainable use and equitable sharing of benefits arising out of plant genetic resources and the circulation and registration of seeds and improved varieties, this paper discusses the extent to which the measures in place in India may favour or affect the conservation and use of NUS. In addition to these frameworks, in view of the major change realized by the 2013 National Food Security Act which has included coarse cereals in the country’s Public Distribution System (PDS), the paper also incorporates this latest policy in its analyses. A special focus is given to small millets, a group of species with unexploited economic and nutritional potential but extremely important for marginal communities’ food security and livelihoods. A set of policy recommendations and opportunities to explore are proposed to address the identified constraints with the purpose of creating a more supportive policy environment and enhancing the national capacity to promote NUS.

Do consumers value nutritional labels?

The European Union is contemplating making the provision ofnutritional labels in food products mandatory. Using data collectedfrom food shoppers, we assessed consumers' valuation of nutritionallabels by analysing their willingness to pay a premium for abox of cookies with a nutritional label. On average, the meanwillingness to pay (WTP) for a box of cookies with a nutritionallabel is estimated to be about 11 per cent above the price ofthe box of cookies without a nutritional label. Consistent withprior expectations, our results also indicate a difference betweenthe WTP of individuals suffering from diet-related health problems(estimated mean 13 per cent) and those who do not suffer anydiet-related health problems (estimated mean 9 per cent).     

Nutritional labelling information: Utilisation of new technologies

Abstract

The increase in food-related diseases in society has led to a variety of public policy and private sector initiatives, such as the use of nutritional labels. Although nutritional labels have been shown to be broadly effective in terms of informing food choice, their influence is moderated by a variety of factors, such as how information is conveyed and processed by consumers. Recent advances in technology might overcome these limitations. Using a choice experiment, this paper examines consumer preferences for alternative technological devices that may aid consumer processing of nutritional information on food packaging. The results show which attributes of the technology consumers prefer, and identifies three distinct segments of consumers (‘information hungry innovators’, ‘active label readers’, and ‘onlookers’), and differences between them in relation to their preferences, demographics, and psychographic characteristics. The identification of segments is a novel aspect of this research, and highlights the importance of finding more customised solutions to the communication of nutritional information – an issue to which technology can contribute.     

内蒙古高校大学生营养状况分析

本文通过对目前内蒙古地区大学生饮食营养状况的分析,发现存在营养物质摄入不足、饮食不规律、不重视饮食营养等问题,并探究了其产生的原因,提出了对学生加强营养教育、学校食堂建立营养师制度等改进措施。对改善大学生饮食营养,提高大学生身体素质,有着非常重要的意义。

Do Brands Serve as Reliable Signals of Nutritional Quality? The Case of Breakfast Cereals

Organic and national brand manufacturers position their offerings as nutritious meals for adults and children. Do these brands serve as reliable signals of nutritional quality? To find an answer, this study analyzed a very popular, ready-to-eat breakfast cereal food category based on all the available data from 2011 (324 offerings) from a large UK grocery comparison website, mysupermarket.co.uk. The study shows that it is possible to find store and basic brand offerings that are almost identical to national brand offerings, but much cheaper and with less sugar (the main concern in cereal). Hedonic price regression analysis further confirms that brand and size explain most of cereal’s price variability, regardless of nutritional quality. The findings also reveal that low-sugar cereals are hard to find regardless of price, and almost all cereals targeted at children have high levels of sugar. A replication study (337 offerings in 2012) revealed that, on average, cereal sugar levels and prices increased, while nutritional value decreased.
