This paper undertakes a comparative analysis of financial management in the British motor industry in the 1950s and 1960s. We question whether US ownership automatically implied greater financial control and immunity from capital market pressures and discuss whether the problems BMC/BMH (British Motor Corporation/British Motor Holdings) experienced were symptomatic of the absence of financial imperatives among British management at this time. Finally we widen the agenda to place our findings on financial management into a wider literature dealing more generally with the problems of managerial control and corporate governance within the motor vehicle industry in the 1950s and 1960s.  相似文献

在后学院科学背景下,科学发现优先权可以带来更多的社会资源与经济利益。有学者甚至认为,科学已经从学院科学时代下“为了公众利益的科学”演变成“为了私人利益的科学”。当前,由于移动互联网等媒介技术的发达,借助于新媒介的广泛传播作用,出现了一些因为科学发现优先权而受媒体和公众异常关注的“网红科学家”,这是一个值得关注的新现象。案例研究发现,部分“网红科学家”及其背后组织,重视了科学发现优先权中独创性所表征出的时效性,但忽视了科学共同体的承认与检验。“网红科学家”主张的科学发现优先权,如果通不过科学共同体的检验与承认,其自身以及背后支持组织也会受到“网红”这把“双刃剑”的损害。  相似文献

An intangible is an attribute that has no scale of measurement. Intangibles such as effort and skill arise in conjunction with resource allocation but are not usually included directly in a mathematical model because of the absence of a unit of measurement. However, intangibles can be quantified through relative measurement (priorities). Intangible resource allocation uses these priorities along with normalized measures of tangibles (when present) in a linear programming model with coefficients and variables measured in relative terms. The priorities of tangible resources from the optimal solution can then be used to assign monetary values to priorities of any intangible resources.  相似文献
