Consumers can experience relatively low prices with the dramatic diffusion of online shopping even with customized products, which are commonly more expensive than regular products, due to unique functions of customized product order processes in online environments. This paper investigates how two psychological antecedents, (1) need for uniqueness and (2) status aspiration, can influence consumers' attitude with regard to forming procedures toward e-customized products and how perceived risk, another psychological factor, on purchasing e-customized products plays a role of moderating factor. A self-administered online survey of 321 Japanese consumers is conducted to examine a proposed conceptual model with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The analysis using results indicates that the need for uniqueness directly impacts on attitude toward e-customized products while it mediates the effect of status aspiration. A multi-group analysis to test a moderating effect of the perceived risk on purchasing e-customized products highlights the significant effects of psychological factors. The result also provides potential guidelines to e-tailors on possibility of segmenting markets as well as promoting their customized products using these psychological criteria of their target consumers. 相似文献

We test a sample of 3,586 banks from 33 European countries to determine whether performances above or below a social aspiration level (median performance of peer banks) influence banks’ aggregate risk levels. Our results are consistent with the behavioural theory of the firm and prospect theory in that we find that bank performance below a bank’s social aspiration level is followed by increased aggregate risk, i.e. risk-taking behaviour in the subsequent year. Although under-performing banks tend to be risk-takers, large banks and banks with high aggregate risk levels tend to limit the increase in their aggregate risk levels. 相似文献

Research summary: This article draws on identity control theory and a study of acquisition premiums to explore how CEO celebrity status and financial performance relative to aspirations affect firm risk behavior. The study finds that celebrity CEOs tend to pay smaller premiums for target firms, but these tendencies change when prior firm performance deviates from the industry average returns, thereby leading these CEOs to pay higher premiums. The study also finds that the premiums tend to be even larger when celebrity CEOs have more recently attained celebrity status. Taken together, these findings contribute to identity control theory and CEO celebrity literatures by suggesting that celebrity status is a double‐edged sword and that the internalization of celebrity status by CEOs strongly influences the decision‐making of CEOs. Managerial summary: The purpose of this article is to examine how CEO celebrity status and financial performance relative to aspirations affect the size of acquisition premiums. The study finds that celebrity CEOs tend to pay smaller premiums for target firms. However, when celebrity CEOs' prior firm performance is either better or worse than the industry average, these CEOs pay higher premiums. This situation is exacerbated when the CEO has only recently been crowned a celebrity. In effect, these CEOs feel great pressure to match the inflated performance expectations that come with celebrity status. These findings suggest that being a celebrity is a double‐edged sword. 农户对居住空间的行为选择是直接影响乡村空间秩序的重要因素,只有充分认识并准确把握其空间行为选择的现状及存在问题,才能从行为主体空间行为选择上进一步探寻合理引导其空间行为演变的发展道路。为了探讨当前新型城镇化背景下农户居住空间行为的演变规律,研究基于微观视角对保定市不同地区的农户进行了居住空间行为的问卷调查,并对结果进行了统计分析和结构方程模型的构建与检验。实证结果表明:(1)调查区域大部分农户对当前居住空间的满意程度为一般;(2)在农户居住空间满意度方面,配套环境驱动占主要地位,其路径系数高于住房条件驱动;(3)在配套环境驱动方面,经济活动交易便利是最主要因素;在经济生产条件驱动方面,耕种便利因子的影响程度高于灌溉条件。在住房条件驱动方面,各具体测度变量根据影响的主次程度排序依次为:建筑面积、宅基地面积、房屋结构、排水便利、出路与交通。建议保定市从配套设施建设、循序渐进的规范化引导、创新制度体系建设等方面合理引导农户居住空间的行为演变。 相似文献

With the development of information technology, online trading platforms for new energy vehicles, represented by Autohome.com, provide individualized decision-making support services for consumers. Considering that consumers often have different attribute requirements when deciding to buy a new energy vehicle. From the requirement information, we can derive the consumers' individual preferences for attribute compensation relationships. This relationship may also indicate, to some extent, that consumers have different strength constraints on different attribute requirements, i.e. aspiration strength. Therefore, to adjust consumers' attribute aspirations and select more products that satisfy consumers’ requirements, this paper investigates how to derive aspiration strength based on the attribute compensation relationship provided by consumers. Specifically, we first define a functional mapping relationship between the attribute compensation relationship and the aspiration strength. According to the mapping relationship, we obtain the aspiration strength. We can change the attribute aspirations based on aspiration strength. Furthermore, attribute compensation relationships are considered to compensate for the product attribute performance. Based on this, we design a new online selection method for new energy vehicles. Finally, a case study of Autohome.com is proposed to verify the effectiveness of the method. We use comparative analysis and random number experiments to demonstrate its robustness and necessity. 相似文献
