"Beloved" by Toni Morrison is an amazingly written book in which the main characters struggle to extricate themselves fr om the shadow of the past for the future . In this article, "Beloved" has been examined with regard to its plot, theme, structure and writing style. According to any of these measures, the literature merits of" Beloved" are high. The aim of this article is not only to describe how the slavery destroys generations and generations, but also to reflect that the cruelty of the slavery still creeps in the hearts of the people by keeping them living in the shadow of the past.
