A model of fractional cointegration, and tests for cointegration using the bootstrap

The paper proposes a framework for modelling cointegration in fractionally integrated processes, and considers methods for testing the existence of cointegrating relationships using the parametric bootstrap. In these procedures, ARFIMA models are fitted to the data, and the estimates used to simulate the null hypothesis of non-cointegration in a vector autoregressive modelling framework. The simulations are used to estimate p-values for alternative regression-based test statistics, including the F goodness-of-fit statistic, the Durbin–Watson statistic and estimates of the residual d. The bootstrap distributions are economical to compute, being conditioned on the actual sample values of all but the dependent variable in the regression. The procedures are easily adapted to test stronger null hypotheses, such as statistical independence. The tests are not in general asymptotically pivotal, but implemented by the bootstrap, are shown to be consistent against alternatives with both stationary and nonstationary cointegrating residuals. As an example, the tests are applied to the series for UK consumption and disposable income. The power properties of the tests are studied by simulations of artificial cointegrating relationships based on the sample data. The F test performs better in these experiments than the residual-based tests, although the Durbin–Watson in turn dominates the test based on the residual d.

经济全球化过程中的负面效应如同经济全球化本身一样是客观的,问题的关键在于如何兴利除弊,特别是发展中国家、欠发展国家应采取积极的对策应对经济全球化的悖论.一是争取建立弱小国家平等地参与全球经济的机制,包括平等地参与制定游戏规则,制定自己的标准等;二是富国应为反贫困负起更大的责任,反贫困的内容是多方面的,发达国家应在多方面承担反贫困的义务;三是增加经济全球的稳定节点.     

SEM图像分形维数的影响因素研究

以玻璃光纤、碳纤维纸和两种机加工表面样本的扫描电子显微镜图像为对象,运用盒维法研究了不同的放大倍数和采集过程中受到的噪声干扰对分形维数的影响.研究结果表明,随着放大倍数增大或随着椒盐噪声密度和高斯随机噪声方差的减小,分形维数下降.放大倍数和噪声对分形维数都有较大影响.在扫描电子显微镜图像分形维数的计算中,可以依据试样的结构特征选择合适的放大倍数,进行去噪处理后再计算图像的分形维数.     

Core structure and comparative statics in a hybrid matching market

Flexible firms compete by means of wages in the Assignment market while rigid firms have no flexibility over terms of appointment in the Marriage market. Workers trade with both kinds of firms in the hybrid market.Examples show that standard results that characterize the core of the Marriage market (respectively, Assignment market) are not robust to the entrance of flexible (respectively, rigid) firms to this market. A new algebraic structure provides a different characterization for the core of the hybrid model and reflects a sort of robustness to the exit of rigid (respectively, flexible) firms from this market. Meaningful comparative static results are derived.

The Announcement Effect of an Airport Expansion on Housing Prices

The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of the announcement of a new airport hub on housing prices near the airport. While numerous studies of airport noise have found that high noise levels reduce property values, few have been able to measure the announcement effect on values. The results indicate that after controlling to extraneous influences, housing property prices in a 2.5 mile band from the Greensboro/High Point/Winston Salem metropolitan airport declined approximately 9.2% in the post-announcement period. In the next 1.5-mile band, house prices declined approximately 5.7% in the post-announcement period.
