Voting in assemblies of shareholders and incomplete markets

Summary. An economy with two dates is considered, one state at the first date and a finite number of states at the last date. Shareholders determine production plans by voting - one share, one vote - and at -majority stable stock market equilibria, alternative production plans are supported by at most percent of the shareholders. It is shown that a -majority stable stock market equilibrium exists if where S is the number of states at the last date and J is the number of firms. The Practicality of Super Bowl Advertising for New Products and Companies

Abstract

Companies that advertise during the Super Bowl can reach 40 million U.S. households with a 30-second commercial spot, but the cost can exceed $2 million. This research examines Nielsen television ratings and expenses for related commercial spots and suggests that the Super Bowl is not always the best site for introducing new companies or products to the marketplace. ANOVA test results indicate that younger companies may better affect purchase decisions by advertising more frequently during less expensive programming slots.     

长江经济带生态保护效率与科技服务业发展效率时空关联分析

建立超效率DEA模型并运用视窗分析测算2010-2017年长江经济带11个省市生态保护效率与科技服务业发展效率,通过空间计量模型分析后者对前者的影响。结果表明：科研技术服务业效率对当地及周边地区的生态保护效率具有正向影响;科技资本服务业效率对当地生态保护效率具有正向影响,但对其周边地区有抑制效应;科技宣传服务业未对生态保护效率产生显著影响。据此,提出长江经济带通过提高科技服务业效率改进生态保护效率的对策。     

Super Bowl advertising: field testing the importance of advertisement frequency,length and placement on recall

This study investigates the effects of length, frequency and pod placement on advertising recall in a non-laboratory setting. Subjects were surveyed the day after Super Bowl XXVIII to determine recall of advertisements shown during the game. The results indicate that length and frequency positively and significantly influence advertisement recall.     

Optimal safety stock levels of subassemblies and manufacturing components

In order to control the time to market and manufacturing costs, companies produce and purchase many parts and components before receiving customer orders. Consequently, demand forecasting is a critical decision process. Using modular product design and super bills of materials are two effective strategies for developing a reliable demand forecasting process. They reduce the probability of stockouts in diversified production contexts. Furthermore, managing and controlling safety stocks for pre-assembled modules provide an effective solution to the problem of minimizing the effects of forecast errors. This paper develops, evaluates, and applies innovative cost-based analytical models so that the optimal safety stock of modular subassemblies and components in assembly to order and manufacturing to order systems, respectively, can be rapidly quantified. The implementation of the proposed models in two industrial case applications demonstrates that they significantly reduce the safety stock inventory levels and the global logistical cost.     

中国企业跨国经营的“离岸化陷阱”

近年来国内企业兴起了一股离岸化发展的热潮,大批的企业特别是民营企业纷纷走出国门,在国际离岸金融中心设立离岸公司,并且利用海外注册的离岸公司对国内进行投资,在充分利用离岸金融中心的相关便利的同时也能享受国内的相关吸引外资的优惠政策。这种“走出去”模式虽然会使中国企业较快的融入世界经济,可是由于国内外相关政策法规的完善和国内外经济形势的变动,很有可能使这些企业陷入一种“离岸化陷阱”。

从竞争力理念的探讨出发,寻找生产性服务业竞争力的评价模式,从宏观角度将国内各地区确定为进行生产性服务业成效评价的基本单位;进而从不同的角度对生产性服务业各项指标进行了分类,结合国内外生产性服务业的实践拟订了评价指标体系,并在此基础上运用超效率数据包络模型,深入探讨有效率的地区生产性服务业评价模式.
