Cultural industry development and multiple group participation in Taiwan

Based on the unique historical site culture assets, series of culture activities and constructions are held by Taiwan municipal government positively in recent years to raise local strength. Though the city landscape of Taiwan is far away from the traditional one, the comparison and analysis of foundation of cultural industry and the situation of cultural participation should be carried on to find out the real issues in Taiwan＇s cultural industry and cultural marketing so as to strengthen the ability of local development. This study finds out the resources of culture administration and the social participation in hope for clearing up the matters of Taiwan＇s cultural industry development, avoiding type Ⅲ errors, and giving suggestions.     

An Average Derivative Estimation of Stochastic Frontiers

This paper utilizes the average derivative estimation of Stoker (1986) and the pesudo-likelihood estimation of Fan, Li, and Weersink (1996) to estimate a semiparametric stochastic frontier regression, y = g(x) + , where the function g(.)is unknown and is a composite error in a standard setting. The proposed semiparametric method of estimation is applied to data on farmers' credit unions in Taiwan. Empirical results show that the banking services of the farmers' credit unions is subject to economies of scale, but high degree of cost inefficiency in operation.     

承接台湾产业外移实现两岸资源互补与共赢——台湾产业外移动因与福建的承接

近10多年来,台湾向大陆转移产业的趋势明显,且规模逐渐扩大,呈现出新的特点,在为福建省的经济发展创造了条件和机遇的同时也对福建省进一步吸引台资、深化闽台合作提出了新的挑战和要求,福建省应对此作出相应的措施,使福建省在承接台湾产业外移中达到两岸资源的互补与共赢。     

Tofacitinib in the treatment of moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis: a cost-effectiveness analysis compared with adalimumab in Taiwan

Aims: Tofacitinib is an oral Janus kinase inhibitor for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). This analysis investigated the cost-effectiveness of the second-line treatment with tofacitinib, compared with adalimumab, both plus methotrexate (MTX), in patients with moderate-to-severe RA and an inadequate response to the first-line MTX, from a Taiwan National Health Insurance Administration perspective.

Materials and methods: A patient-level simulation model was used to project lifetime costs and quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs). Base-case analysis compared second-line treatment with tofacitinib 5?mg twice daily plus MTX vs adalimumab 40?mg every 2?weeks plus MTX. Patients switched or discontinued treatment due to a lack or loss of effectiveness or a serious adverse event. Efficacy was measured by change in Health Assessment Questionnaire-Disability Index (HAQ-DI) score. HAQ-DI scores were used to predict mortality and resource utilization, and were mapped onto utility values to estimate QALYs. Efficacy and safety data were derived from clinical trials and other secondary sources. Uncertainty in model parameters was explored using one-way deterministic and probabilistic sensitivity analyses.

Results: Patients gained 0.09 more QALYs with second-line tofacitinib plus MTX compared with adalimumab plus MTX (5.13 vs 5.04, respectively) at an additional cost of New Taiwan Dollars (NT$) 12,881. The incremental cost-effectiveness ratio was NT$143,122/QALY. One-way sensitivity analysis confirmed the base-case result was robust.

Limitations: The lack of available clinical data, particularly for HAQ-DI scores, may introduce some bias in the analysis. No patients were in an early stage of RA, which may limit the generalizability of these results. Base-case results from our study are not necessarily generalizable to countries with healthcare systems that differ considerably from Taiwan.

Conclusions: From a payer perspective, second-line treatment with tofacitinib plus MTX is a cost-effective treatment strategy, compared with adalimumab plus MTX, in patients with moderate-to-severe RA in Taiwan.

海峡西岸经济区建设中的经济增长因素分析

建设对外开放、协调发展、全面繁荣的海峡西岸经济区是理论界目前讨论的一个热点问题.本文从分析新古典增长理论、新增长理论及制度变迁理论等有关经济增长的经典理论出发,分析了经济增长综合因素对我省经济建设的贡献率,由此得出未来海峡西岸经济区建设中的经济增长因素只能以技术进步和制度创新为主这一结论,并提出实现经济持续、稳定、协调发展的现实路径选择.     

海峡西岸区域物流对区域经济增长贡献度的探析

从海峡西岸经济发展现状入手,结合该区域物流市场需求的必然性和可行性分析,采用计量经济模型对区域物流与经济增长进行相关的实证分析,得出了区域货运量、客运量每单位增长对经济增长的贡献度,为政府重视区域物流的发展提供了可靠依据。     

Engagement partner specialization and corporate disclosure transparency

This paper explores the association of audit partners' industry specialization with corporate disclosure transparency and the latter's informativeness. The distinctive institutional designs of partner signature requirement and Information Disclosure and Transparency Ranking System (IDTRS) adopted in Taiwan allow us to empirically address the issue. We posit and find that the rankings from the IDTRS are higher for firms audited by industry specialist engagement partners than for firms audited by non-specialist engagement partners. Additionally, the results show that the probability of informed trade (PIN) proxy for information asymmetry is negatively associated with the rankings for clients of industry specialist engagement partners, but not for clients of industry non-specialist engagement partners. The results are robust with respect to alternative estimation method and alternative measures of industry specialization. Overall, the evidence suggests that industry specialist engagement partners enhance the credibility of corporate disclosure transparency, through which information asymmetry is further declined. The evidence provides policy implications to the partner signature requirement adopted in Taiwan and China.     

两岸经贸关系新发展对香港之影响及其对策

台商大陆投资规模扩张与地域转变、两岸贸易高速增长与非均衡发展以及两岸经贸人员往来规模持续增长对香港产生了重要影响,香港不仅获得了更多的发展机会,也面临着诸多挑战.香港应积极采取有效措施,提升服务水平与综合竞争力,不仅要充分利用背靠泛珠三角的地缘条件,依靠自身优势,在泛珠三角地区积极与其它各方开展合作,还要充分利用在两岸经贸交流中的中介地位,深化与台湾的经贸合作,从多层面促进经济的持续发展.     

台湾农业金库的运作模式及其对内地农信社改革的启示

本文首先分析了台湾农业金库的发展历程、股权结构及其职责作用,然后从法律制度、政府角色、业务开展等方面概括了台湾农业金库运行模式的特点,并参照台湾农业金库的模式,提出内地农村信用社改革发展的建议,包括建立相应法律体系、强化省政府在农信社改革进程中的作用、强化农信社省级联社的行业管理和服务职责等。
