This article introduces this special issue of theEmployee Responsibilities and Rights Journal on recent work exploring Albert O. Hirschman's Exit, Voice, and Loyalty model of dissatisfaction. This special issue provides a forum for researchers and theorists with various perspectives on the model to present their ideas in one place. There are six original articles in this issue, and one discussion piece. While these articles do not resolve the controversies surrounding the Exit, Voice, and Loyalty model, they do provide a clear picture of the current status of research and theory on dissatisfaction in organizations from this perspective.  相似文献

A conceptual framework of salesperson satisfaction/dissatisfaction is presented and is used to develop several research propositions. Drawing from organizational behaviour and sales management research, the model incorporates various theories of motivation and emphasizes the role of intervening variables thought to be especially important in the context of sales occupations. Finally, the model draws attention to the dynamic nature of the relationships between salespersons' efforts, performance, intrinsic and extrinsic rewards, and job satisfaction/dissatisfaction. Abstract

The object of this study was to gauge the satisfaction of tourists holidaying in Marbella (Spain) as regards a group of items related to the town's main characteristics, including street safety and cleanliness, natural surroundings, services, hotel, restaurant and café prices, night clubs, facilities for practising sports and water sports, and for playing golf, as well as to the climate and natural surroundings. Furthermore, the results obtained from the study also indicated to what degree the state and local authorities and tourist-related businesses have been successful in taking steps to change those items with which tourists are unsatisfied. Finally, this study also aims to discover the profiles of the most satisfied tourists, which allow one to segment the market and implement the most effective marketing strategies in each specific segment. In this work, the author has seen fit to apply the Rasch Model, as it is a very novel and useful instrument for measuring the latent variable.  相似文献

It is important to understand customer dissatisfaction in order to maintain a sustainable business, given that the negative effects of customer dissatisfaction in service businesses may be even greater than the positive effects of satisfaction. This study investigates customer dissatisfaction and its consequences by focusing on the mediating role of attitude toward a hotel according to different hotel classes related to customer expectation level. The results show a mediating role for attitude in the relationship between customer dissatisfaction and specific negative behavioral intentions. This study broadens our knowledge of customer dissatisfaction and the role of attitude toward a hotel in the relevant literature. The empirical findings demonstrate that regardless of hotel type, customer dissatisfaction significantly affects their attitude and their consequent negative behavioral intention.  相似文献

The study aimed to explore factors contributing to job dissatisfaction among frontend retail employees in India. It broadly contributes to the problem of talent retention and employee turnover which is one of the biggest challenges of the Indian retail industry. The study adopted mixed-method approach to inductively identify the contextual factors leading to job dissatisfaction. Qualitative data were analyzed using grounded theory approach followed by a survey based quantitative study, using exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling to validate the qualitative findings. Qualitative study revealed seven factors-customer aggression, abusive supervision, perceived job image, perceived unethical climate, lack of autonomy, work exhaustion and inter-role conflicts contributing to job dissatisfaction. Findings of quantitative study showed all factors except lack of autonomy were significantly related to job dissatisfaction. Theoretical contributions, managerial implication, limitations, and scope for future work are discussed.  相似文献

文章收集了358份有效样本数据,运用EVLN模型考察中国注册会计师面对工作不满意的行为反应,分析结果如下:(1)EVLN模型在中国注册会计师样本中的信度较高,但维度和项目需进一步调整;(2)中国注册会计师面对工作不满意时,更多采用考虑型表达和耐心行为,而较少采用退出、进攻型表达和忽视行为;(3)各行为反应之间的相关关系支持了建设性-破坏性维度划分;(4)社会统计学变量也与行为反应存在一定关系。  相似文献

Abstract

Although wide agreement exists between scholars and marketing practitioners concerning the prevalence of dysfunctional customer behaviour, to date empirical research into this phenomenon is lacking. This article aims to identify empirically grounded categories of dysfunctional customer behaviours and examine the extent to which customers' perceptions of physical servicescape environments, social facets of servicescape, and customer disaffection with service differ for each category. Based on a quantitative sample of 380 consumer perpetrators, cluster analysis reveals three clusters of dysfunctional customer behaviour forms labelled ‘petty norm infringements’, ‘felonious norm infringements’, and ‘belligerent norm infringements’. Subsequent variance analysis assesses the perceived differences between perceived physical servicescape, social servicescape, and customer disaffection for each identified form cluster. Specifically, the study findings reveal statistically significant differences between the forms of dysfunctional customer behaviour that are perpetrated across different service environments. The article concludes with a discussion of the implications of the study for theorists and practitioners.  相似文献

Abstract

One of the least understood areas in customer complaint behaviour (CCB) research is why some customers complain and others do not in similar dissatisfaction situations. Prior research has explored differences in customer characteristics between complainers and non-complainers, but not in association with relevant situational factors. This gap is addressed with a new conceptual framework incorporating two situational variables – customer dissatisfaction and involvement – and two consumer traits – impulsivity and self-monitoring. Several hypotheses about their main and interaction effects are tested in two different contexts, using a survey-based study in three countries (Singapore, South Korea, and the United States). Specifically, it is shown that CCB is positively associated with involvement and impulsivity, and negatively with self-monitoring. Involvement and impulsivity are shown to moderate the association between dissatisfaction and CCB positively, and self-monitoring moderates it negatively. Some implications and directions for future research are also discussed.  相似文献
