本文是一项对在非英语专业大学生的听说课上开展新闻报道提高大学生英语听说能力的实证研究。研究结果表明:首先,新闻报道活动有效地提高了学生的听说积极性和综合能力。其次,学生的英语程度影响了学生参与活动的热情和活动表现力。此外,学生对新闻的选择有利于教师了解学生的喜好。研究还讨论了新闻报道活动中出现的问题及解决办法。 相似文献

The Millennium Boom of 2003–2011 made the resources industry highly profitable and led to a surge in new projects around the world. This had major implications for the Australian economy: Resource investment accounted for almost half of all business investment at the peak and the buoyancy of the sector helped Australia to avoid the worst of the global financial crisis. Using the event-study approach, this article examines the wealth-creating effects of new resource projects at the individual company level. The results indicate substantial increases in shareholder returns occur around the time of announcements of government approval for projects, the finalization of feasibility studies and changes in the status of projects such as when a company decides to finally commit to invest in a project. Government approval is the most important milestone in the life cycle of a project, where abnormal returns around 4% are realized on announcement day. 相似文献

External public debt exacerbation and macroeconomic destabilization in Laos are attributed to the subsequent complications of excessive foreign capital investments in the mining, power, and transport infrastructure sectors during the economic boom of the 2010s. This study examines the Lao economy from three perspectives: real sector growth, the characteristics of external fundraising, and the domestic financial system. Our findings suggest that the external debt issue still appears to be under control, real sector growth is expected to be strong in the medium term, and the less-developed financial system has not realized its potential for fiscal financing and macroeconomic stability. 相似文献

We study how shocking news affects cognitive performance. Identifying these effects makes societies more resilient by helping to adjust policy responses to reduce indirect costs of future atrocities. Our analysis is based on a school shooting that coincided with national matriculation exams, allowing a difference-in-differences analysis. We find a substantial negative effect on males: their average performance dropped by seven percent. The average performance of females was unaffected. Our findings suggest that a shocking event may call for psychological support for young people even in communities that are not directly affected. 相似文献

A complete financial stability analysis should include investigation on macroeconomic stability since macroeconomic development and potential imbalance can increase the financial instability and trigger a financial crisis. Survey data of rating on China's macroeconomic stability is analyzed by estimating an ordered logit model with random effect. Among the candidate macroeconomic indicators, we found that inflation is the key variable that determines China's macroeconomic stability, followed by the change in budget balance and GDP growth gap. 相似文献

The goal of this paper is to analyze the impact of annual earnings announcements on the market through the order flow data in addition to the usual transaction data. In this respect, examining order flow data can potentially reveal valuable information that is not available from transaction data. In fact, the data allow us to test hypotheses about asymmetric information and investor behavior and to test if the behavior varies with investor sophistication. 中国宏观经济2006—2008年的波动为资本结构自然实验法研究提供了条件。选择该期间行业内资产规模最大和最小的中国A股上市公司作为研究样本,实证研究了宏观经济波动对不同规模上市公司资本结构选择的影响。研究发现:宏观经济波动对大规模上市公司和小规模上市公司的资本结构影响存在显著差异,不同规模的公司均显著改变了其融资行为;宏观经济状况和公司规模是上市公司资本结构选择的重要因素。 相似文献
